After Searching the Forum, Decided to go with Raybestos Brakes for my 03 GLS. Compared to EBC and Hawk, Raybestos are cheaper and can be found at local Parts store(AdvanceAuto), Having no knowledge with these parts are Raybestos really decent parts to use? I mean they must be better than Duralast and other brands that Autozone sells.... Comes out to $120 for Raybestos Brake Pads, and Set of Rotors for front from AdvanceAuto. Decent price or you guys have better combo that you would recommend? I'm looking for OE Level of Brakes... will brake squeek if i don't have shims on pads? because there is no shims on my pads right now... or these raybestos already comes with one?

thanks,
Tae

I'm using raybestos with brembo discs for all 4 wheels (rear has disc brakes, w/ ABS). Don't expect any drastic changes, however, I feel a bit better (more braking force for full braking) although I replaced brake pads/discs while the old front pads still had "over 5000 miles" remaining (according to the mechanic) and the rear pads had more remaining.

And, they don't squeak although they had been squeaking with the stock(original) pads/discs.

That doesn't mean it has 4 wheel discs...

...actually it does. ABS equipped cars only came in 4-wheel disc, not rear drum like the non-ABS sedans (what I have). They are rare, but there are 4-wheel disc ABS 01-03 XD Sedans out there.

I could see that my rear also has disc brakes like the front :D (while the wheels were being rotated).

Some of GLS have rear disc brakes if equipped with ABS although there are not so many.

No. You do not (or shouldn't if done CORRECTLY) open the brake lines, so the system stays closed.

My old boss had one as a demo for a while. It was an auto with TCS as well.

Most of them are 2001 XDs, then fewer and fewer 2002 and 2003's.

if it matters, i got some rotorworks DRILLED/SLOTTED front rotors off of ebay. and then ordered some EBC GREEN STUFF pads. havent gotten to install the EBC pads yet, but even with the crappy semi metallic pads i hav no , my brakes are MUCH better than they were when they were stock.
