Ok so is friday (as noted by the time stamp of the post) and its only 10:12 and i'm really bored. I should be packing and cleaning the house like my wife said since our friends are comming out this afternoon to stay the weekend. naturally I said pfft and got on the computer after watching a movie. Movie was WAR if you wanted to know and I really liked the twist at the end. Anywhoo this monday i'll be gone for basic training for the Air Force and tech school can be 20 weeks or more for me depending on my job that I pick out. If all goes well i'll be a aerial gunner on the big C-130 gunship or on a helo. Now I dunno if she'll be toolin around on here or not but if so it'll be under my tag..so play nice and remember she probably won't search for a thing like I have told her to do. only1db, I didn't forget about you just haven't had any money to ship that thing to ya. If you don't need it any more just let me know and i'll hang on to it for later use. Yeah you guys like that cryptic message there? thought so, if you don't know yet you'll know eventually.:D
Alright anywhoo thoughts? Comments? What do you guys think of military life? Ever wanted to do it just didn't have the stones? How bout you guys that are not in the USA, what are your thoughts and yes both positive and negative comments are welcome just be civil about it....Now discuss my children.

Good luck to you. Although gunning sounds awesome (I'll admit, that would be fun), when you are picking out your job - consider where it might take you in life after the USAF. I know someone in the Air Force who is doing computer network security - he's already got civilian jobs lined up waiting for him when he finishes up, because he has training that will land him those jobs. As an aerial gunner, I don't know how much of that training can be applied to post-military employment.
Of course, it's up to you, just something to think about.

Well Aerial gunner involves lots of mechanical, electrical and hydrolic knowledge to name a few things. So I can take thoes skills and apply them to other civilian things in the field of the fore mentioned skills i'll be learning for the job. Example would be auto maintenance or elctrical, aircraft electrical or maintenance so on and so forth.

I wouldn't be able to put up with Boot camp. My dad said Officer's school is a bit different tho, but in the end i'd rather stay in school for a Phd.

Just so you know you can get your PHD or whatever else you want while you are in the USAF (not trying to make a plug or anything here). Not to mention you'll be able to do it at like half the cost. Basic is really easy, its all mental. Just shut up and do what you are told and it'll be over before you know it. BigRob I went in under garunteed mechanics so that way I could leave sooner. So when I get down to basic i'll pick my job from a book, its also how you get the hard to book jobs IE aerial gunner, nukeclear weapons, PJs and such. When I started all this begining of 07 I started at 200 lbs and had to be at 165 (max weight 170, currently 161).

Thats the problem there. I'll wind up in the brig before all is said and done. People have to earn respect by showing respect in my book, not expect it.
As for the PHD, I'll be earning it all back from the Gov. in the end, as i hope to work for the Veteran's Administration.
