I was coming home from work when another car pulled out in front of me. Since I was going to hit him anyway I tried to drive around so that I wouldn't hit the side of the other car. I almost made it but I hit the edge of the other bumper which pushed me off the road and into the concrete poles protecting a electrical power box. Hitting the poles caused the car to flip on its side then the roof. The crazy part is my wife was talking to me on the cell and all she heard of the collision was the people from the other asking if I was ok. It kind of freaked her out. The only pic I didn't take would have shown the dent on the roof where the winshield pic. It was too bright outside and I was using my cell phone. This sucks.... I had just barely started to mod it (fidanza shifter, coolant mod from here, cheapa** intake from ebay) now I think she's R.I.P. I kind of wondered how good quality these cars were.... too bad I had to play crash test dummy to find out.
***UPDATE*** Just heard back from the insurance and decided the car is totaled (dee da dee ). Crappy part is my guys are only giving me $3300. After paying the deductable and paying the car off I get a whopping $1100. Still no word from the other insurance but my guys say that the other insurance is also handling the case. Any ideas? would the other be paying something or just the deductable? This is the first accident where I've ended up with no car. The last time was half the value of a three week old to me car and he and I had the same insurance company.

Wow..well, I'm glad you're all ok. The car saved your life. And thank god for your excellent reflexes! Hitting the other car headon would have caused some serious damage to yourself.

Ya for a roll, the cabin looks pretty good. Unlike the cabin on that civic that Bob's inlaws rolled.
Yes, the car did a wonderful job keeping you safe man. Glad that your ok.

the best part is that you're fine. there's always going to be elantras.
who knows, you might get lucky and the insurance company will give you more than the car cost, like what happened to me and my old 05 Hatch!
sorry for a slight thread jack, but did anybody hear what happened in SD with a guy in, i think an XD Hatch? a Freeway sign fell on his car while he was driving and he still managed to come out of it alive. that, and this, are good testaments to the Elantras toughness, IMO

That sux man. Just glad to hear that you were able to walk away from a roll-over. That's gotta say something about the safety of these cars.
