My parents 2002 Toyota Sienna has 90K miles on it. Because of money reasons, can they wait a little longer to change the timing belt?

I heard on PBS, that you should change more than just the timing belt. I know that the water pump should be changed. But, what else could be changed? Is there anything extra that goes along with the timing belt that I could also ask to be changed? PBS was claiming this, because the timing belt interval is so long, that there is more that you should change then just the timing belt.

Thank you very much

I thought the belt interval was 105K?

Nope, it's def 90K. Transmission fluid is 105K but we changed that twice already.

It is recommended to change the idler, and the tensioner pulleys.

OK, do you think that will cost a lot extra??

thanks

About 30$ a piece at a good auto parts. The tensionner is the most important, though the idler should be checked to see if the bearings are still good.

So what would you ask for, if I want to do get those few extras done; I don't want to get ripped off.

Honestly they are one bolt each, I would ask for 10$ extra, haha.
