Ok, through the other poll we have determined that 01-03 elantra vented hood, OTHER than climax style is the most sought after. Now phase two of the process. Since 26 people picked "other" style, please post here what style you want. Post PICTURES or links to pictures.
The picture could be of an existing vented hood from another car, or just a scoop.
THe ones that come off the top of my head are EVO, and Invader...
Please post pics of what you want. After there are a few posted, we will post up a new poll to pick which one the most people want...

I still like the simplicity of the mustang hood. It's lines are similar to those of the Elantra.
I wouldn't mind the Evo 8 style hood, but I like the mustang hood better.
Is this hood coming with a new grill?

I agree I like something that would flow with the lines of the XD hood, the neon one is way to round.
It also matter if you want a hood that sucks in air (Mustang, Neon) or helps blow air out (Evo),
I want an Evo 8
I don't think this is ever gonna be solved. Some people want something like the EVO because it don't look so aggressive and flow with the car a little better and add a little style, others want a more aggressive race hood with a scoop, so I don't think what ever comes out of this everyone will be happy.
I like the oem style ones

A built-in grill would be cool but then you'd need one hood for the GLS and another for the GT.

Like it says in the original post, we already voted for a vented 01-03 hood.
If you want OEM, they already have them.

If it was built in to the hood and was functional then I would be very interested in one. I think our hoods are to high as it is and something like the WRX scoop would stick up to high and interfere with the view, same as a mustang type hood.

I just don't think the WRX style looks right on the elantra at least I doubt think it would go with the look of a hatch.

I had reservations about the WRX style until I saw what Blackdiamond had done. It looks pretty good. But I'm thinking now that I want hot air to escape and not cold air to be sucked in, so I would go for the EVO VIII style.

Do you have a side view or front view Blackdiamond? I see now how it looks and it might not be as bad as I was thinking. The Focus and EGT both have the filter placed in the same place with a short ram system. I saw a hood for the Focus that has a "ram air" hole just over the filter and it had a rubber seal around it when closed so the air was forced in to the TB and it kept debris out. Take a look at this mustang link and picture the hole on the other side. It is the best picture I could find at the moment.

I'd much rather have an Evo 8 hood with a single big opening that with two split ones like above. To me, it looks like nostrils.

What stops water ,etc. from getting in the engine with those big holes in the hood that htekric posted?

We should get a hood which would be functional. So with that being said, we should make it so we can then get the parts from a Focus, for example, and try to modify it so that we can run it to our TB. Or any hood we get which we can make functional would be great...

um...any vented hood is going to be of some benefit just because it is either cooling the engine down or releasing hot air...cooling the air down...either way its doing something
