I also used that white LEDs for the license lights.

LED lights doesn't work on 04+ (I bought like 3 lights.... but didn't work)
Only Dome light works.
You just unscrew and put the dome light back in... that is all you need to do..

For future reference, the bulb type should be listed in your manual.
The LED bulbs will only work if the polarity is correct. If they don't light when installed one way, they need to be reversed to work.

Wow.... :(
Isn't that simple polarity problem? (LED has polarity) I thought that the only thing those LED bulbs need is 12VDC electric source.

^ Nope, since they're a "Light Emitting Diode" they only allow current to flow in one direction. That's what a diode does.
Also, LEDs usually only require 2 to 3 volts each. To run them right on 12 volt, you either have to hook them up in series to drop the voltage, or add a resistor.

Nope?? You are just repeating what I said...
Have polarity==Need to check current direction.

They sell LEDs with resistor pre-installed for 12V with automotive compatible sockets. Don't need to worry about the voltage problem.
You just need to check the current direction and add LEDs accordingly with resistor so that they would work with 12V and given current direction. As long as Elantra gives you 12VDC, this shouldn't be difficult and it wasn't difficult at all. Or even, by adding some additional diodes, we can install those LEDs without checking the current direction; e.g., such mechanisms are used in AC2DC adapters. (although this should be more pain in the *** to do.)
They sell LEDs with resistance pre-installed. In that case, you just need to check the current direction (maybe.. polarity was not a proper term for this?) and install accordingly.

Oh.. and the dome lights you mentioned with the link ARE ALSO LEDs.. :D

I was going to say, you guys are saying the same thing.
Polarity is the correct word.

I miss-understood that part of your posts. I thought you were saying that as long as you were running 12 volts thru them (any which way) that an LED should work.
Never mind.
