so i was surposed to put my turbo on today and man was i excited. me and a friend went to the shop and started taking everything we needed to off. then the install started. like everyone said the manifold didn't bolt up perfectly so we has to wided the holes. no biggy. we went to drop the turbo and manifold in and found that the waste gate was blocked the 2 sensors on the front of the block. so i took the waste gate off and worked on remouting it. after everything was mounted i looked over at the exhsust outlet and there wasnt any room for the down pipe. that pretty much killed it all. so now in order to use the turbo i have to get an external wastegate and a new downpipe.
i have an internal waste gate that i dont think i need now so if any one wants it ill sell it. and now that i ned more parts maybe you guys can help me out. i need a external wastegate and down pipe. WOOOO HOOOO MORE WAITING!!!!!

my downpipe was made after i mounted the turbomanifold and turbo, ran all the lines had everying working. i tack welded a little 90 degree angle pipe to the turbo exhaust flange and drove to my exhaust guy. 2 hours later picked up the car with a new downpipe.
you cant just buy a downpipe. (unless its a turbo used from a kit and they will sell it seperately)

the down pipe was gonna be a total custom job. the turbo had an internal wastegate conversion piece on it and off of that was a v-band flange. so i had a u bend that i was gonna cut in half and weld another v band flang to and viola. (it was supposed to be that easy). BUT... because of the wastegate and v-band the end of the turbo was about 2 inches from the alternator. my exhaust is 2 1/2" so not even a strait piece would have fit, let alone the v-band flange and the bend.
i can just buy a down pipe but and thats what ill end up doing. but because it wouldn't work with the internal waste gate im most likely goin to have to try to figure out an external wastegate set up. witch is what i wanted to in the first place but the internal set up looked so much easier lol. imma have to get some one to weld me the wastegate flange to the manifold. (or invent something lol)
itll all work out eventually.

i dk bout the sfr t3 pack but ive noticed alot of turbo guys have the turbo coming off the manifold at an angle. mine is an obx so it points strait down to the turbo.

with a regular t3 style wastegate (3 bolts) it can be done
with an external wastegate (only a 5 bolts flange on the turbo) it can be done
with your e-bay special v-banded t3 wastegate it CAN'T be done
