For those of you watching the superbowl, you saw the commercial for the new Audi. I'm not big on that car, but the headlights look AMAZING.

I want to do something like this to my headlights, how hard do you think it would be?

Well I'm giving you my opinion - that's what discussion forums are for ;)

And you know I still love you. i just think that wouldn't look good on our car (not that it looks good on the audi anyways). I guess you could just make a FG enclosure for the LEDS and run them however you want...

Yeah, but when do I get a chance to give you crap?

I don't know, I think it would look great. I've heard people tell me angel eyes would look retarded, until I put them in. That changed their mind real quick. But then the damn things burned out after a month.

I want something that's different, something that sets me out from the rest, and I'm a sucker for a cool project.

You can give me crap anytime you want man I'm here for that, haha.

What exactly do you want? A funky curve like that, or just something that follows the bottom line of the headlight?

Nah, I don't think the curve would look good on our headlights, I just want accent lighting similar to that. I'd have to take a close look and see where I could do it.

those audi headlights dont look nearly as good in person as they do in print.

Plus, you're big ugly bra would be a total distraction to them :)

I think it would look good if they were amber colored and worked as running lights /turn signals. Your pretty good with photchopping draw it up there and see for yourself.

And I thought you are getting the front end fixed soon?

By the way Football sucks donkey D!cks. I don't even watch "for the commercials"

LED + projectors + clean engine = COTM

I like the headlights of this Lexus:

that light beam doesnt seem very focused... seems kinda weak too... :/ but the 3 projector headlights do look nice.

those three projectors are actual LEDs. if I'm not mistaken, its the first car here in the US to have LED headlights.

Give it a shot Cory. If it doesn't work out, then there's nothing lost. But, if it looks good, the crow will be served. :)

it may not look that good with no other mods in the exterior. kinda like a civic with projectors that have leds on top but everything else looking plane.

I like that, but I would go with white, not blue. Blue attracts more (unwanted) attention.

in pa, you cant have blue lights atall, or red ones. its against the law because it resembles law enforcement lighting

Munky
07-29-2008, 02:37 PM
^Yeah, the laws here are similar. You can't have any front-facing lights that are colored blue/red/green. (Colors used by volunteer police/fire/EMT)

They're okay anywhere else on the car, as long as drivers in front of you can't see it in their rear-view mirror.

It doesn't look bad on that 350Z.

Well, I'll be doing a projector retrofit soon, I'll be able to play around with some ideas.

The 2009 A4 has similar LED lighting in the housing like the R8.
