I can't find the PCV valve for my Elantra '05 :)
Is it just a hose? And if so, do I need to replace it?
I've read somewhere people are installing filters/catchers on that hose. Has anybody done this?
For example:

it runs from your IM to your engine cover ( you have to remove the plastic cover to see it )..
the valve is a brass valve...
i replaced mine for $3 at autozone.. but everyone says you can just soak it in brake cleaner and it'll be good as new.

yep.. alot of people have put catch can's on the pcv line... and on the breather line also.

I see.. it is on the pcv line, attached to to the valve cover, and covered in a black hose.
nice :)
So how do I remove it? Remove the hose attached hose and then the hose that covers it and then? How much force do I apply or do I twist it somehow?

you just unscrew it with a wrench... it should break loose easily..
i turned mine the wrong way about half a turn... then when i realized i was going the wrong way (because you should turn it counterclockwise, as if you were standing from the other side.. lol)
it broke free with about 40lbs of force.. not much.
