75k maintenance from the dealership

Went to the dealership today and got a breakdown for 75k.
oil change
tire rotation
air filter replacement
throttle body wash
battery test/svc
ac test
complete inspection

Out the door $172. Anything I can skip or do myself easily?

If u got a jack i would do your tire rotation yourself. Air filter is super simple, just go to Autozone, get a new one ( i got K&N) and put it in.

the rest they can do. Specially the oil change, AC test and the throttle body was would be nice. idk if that is REALLy necessary tough.

air filter replacement is a 10 second deal and the rest of the stuff is inspection.

well this is the first car i've ever really done mainenance on and i'm terrified that if i do anything myself i'll end up blowing up my car or something. do you have to rotate your tires with every oil change? i'm still trying to find the repair book for the 04 so i can have my dad help me with stuff. maybe i'll just pull the chick card somewhere and have this stuff done cheaper?

go in there and say you want oil changed, tires rotated, and a new air filter. ask if they have any coupons. They will. if they want to "upgrade" you to a 75k service tell them you are not worried about the other things.

the throttle body "wash" and the a/c check are bull****. i'm a tech trust me on this. and the "complete inspection" you can get for free. they use those things to try and sell you more stuff.

You don't need to rotate your tires with every oil change. Rotating with every two or three oil changes should be enough if you are changing oil per 3000 miles.

oil change- grab a jack, 17mm wrench and oil bucket and do it yourself
tire rotation- you can do this yourself if you have the time. It might be annoying jacking up a side at a time though. Make sure to crack the lugs loose while its on the ground
air filter replacement- simple job. I think you just need a philips screwdriver (can't remember. haven't had stock airbox in 3+ years)
throttle body wash- I'm assuming this is a cleaning? Grab some carb cleaner and just spray the inside of the TB.
battery test/svc- I don't know about near you, but where I work we'll test ur battery/charging system for free. Stop by an autozone and they may do the same
ac test- psh, who needs a/c. turn the a/c on. is it cold? if it is, its good enough
complete inspection- what exactly is "complete inspection"? you can check the brakes yourself when you are rotating tires, I can also run down checking ball joints, wheel bearings and struts

WHAT?!?!?!?! i thought it was like mandatory that if the car existed then there was a full take it apart down to the screws and put it back together manual! shows you that i've never owned anytime but POS cars, lol.

oil change and and air filter are definitely something you do yourself to save $$$.

Tire rotation: If you have a Big Brand Tire, they'll do tire rotations for free. If you have a walmart, they will rotate tires for $6.

Trans flush is every 30k.
And to figure out what kind of tire you have, look at the sidewall, write down the information it gives you, and google it.

Tire rotations shoule be done every other oil change or 7500 miles. Regardless of tire brand. If you are running alot of negative camber in the front then you'll want to do it more often to equal out the tire wear. Proper alignment and tire inflation along with driving styles and road conditions added on top make up how long a tire will last. Not some BS brochure for the tire store.

so does that mean that since i'm delivering pizzas 5-6 nights a week i should rotate with every oil change? one thing i know how to do is check the tire pressure, how often should that be done?

If you're aggressive on corners, push it hard, spin the tires on launch, am close to lock up on stops because you're waiting to the last minute then yes.

Rotating a 90,000 mile tire too soon would be pointless & a waste of time/money. Common sense man not BS. Tires rotated 8 times during it's lifespan will be close to exactly the same whether your tire is 90,000 miles or 15,000 miles.
