What to do with tails

I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with my tails. I want to change it up somehow. My options would be: tinting them, redding them out, or maybe breaking them and putting the clear covers over them but than thats alot of work.

So between tinting or redding them out; whats ur opinion?

You could red them out, or put a red tint on the turn area, but I would not know if the amber color would show through the red tint.

On my car, my tails are all red, but I put amber LED's in the rear turn signal lights and they show up as amber/yellow. I like the all red color of the lens, but also prefer an amber color for the turn signal light.

I am not going to vote. The way your car sits now, I would leave them the way they are, if you have more black or tinted windows then tint them, otherwise leave them.

I agree with NY2002ElantraGT. If you aren't going to tint the windows, leave the tails alone. Or...tint both.

I don't like red-out in general and definitely not on a red(ish) car.

On another note, I wish they had clear lenses for GTs. I think Silver has the best looking taillights I've seen.

And not to hijack the threat, but I have a related question. What's the difference between an 1156 bulb and an 1157 bulb? Are they interchangeable?

I agree w/the majority......leave the tails alone. If your going to tint the windows then you can tint the tails. DO NOT red them out though....that wouldn't look good....too much red.

This is what my front end is going to be: CF hood, black FG grill and black eyelines. I guess maybe I should lean towards tinting them to make it sort of flow? oh, and I will get tint. Hopefully this spring.

I say tint them lol! I have one kit left of tinted vinyl. I have lots of small scraps for other things. Then I gotta order another roll. I think you should look for a red xd with tinted tails and see how you like it before you make up your own mind.

I kinda like lightly black tinted lenses, it looks hot. Not a fan of the blacked out ones though, looks kinda ricey imo. If you did a light tint and converted your taillight bulbs to leds, then it'd look good and you wouldn't have to worry about someone not seeing you as well and mating their car with yours.

I tinted my windows and have all my tail lights smoked black exept the little rear back up squares that are clear on the lights by my lisence plate on my GT and it looks sick.. i vote you smoke em
