Since my 03 GLS was making squeaking noise from front brakes I swapped out whole front(Rotors, Pads) with Raybestos. But I don't really feel big improvement. I still here bit of squeaky noise(got little quiter i guess) and pedal seems the same(same amount of pressure needed to stop or even greater pressure is need). I checked the brake fluid and it's a max. what else could be done? readjust brake pedal itself? if so, does anyone have a write-up on it? pedal goes all the way before it makes complete stop.
thanks,
Tae

Sounds like they need to be bled.

^ Why would they need to be bled? As long as the system was not opened there is no reason to bleed them. That's like saying to add brake fluid because your brakes are squeaking. . . . .
You probably will not feel much difference in stopping power, if any, when replacing with stock type replacements. Hence the word "stock". If you have rear drums, I would definately recommend cleaning and readjusting them. That'll give a larger improvement in brake feel because you'll be using the rears more. If you have rear disc, check them out. They may be frozen or worn out giving no braking from the rear which makes the fronts work harder and giving you a spongy pedal.

There is no "readjusting the pedal". The pedal is what it is.

Check his last sentence again. The pedal goes all the way before it stops. Might have air in the system.

How would he get air in a sealed system? If you do it CORRECTLY you do not crack open the lines.

I agree. But we don't know what the previous repair history is, and I'm going out on a limb here by saying that this guy probably doesn't do this for a living...

I just saw the "had the rears adjusted 2 months ago" part. I'm guessing they probably just sprayed them down with brake cleaner and called it a day.
