well I gained about 75 lbs in 18 mths cause i moved away where i wasn't involved in sports, snacked for meals cause of work, and had casual beer every night. I moved back to the city where I know everyone, and now I eat better and go to the gym 5-6 times a week for a workout and a 5km run

hahahaha jan 08, yeah with lypo. thanks man

what are you guys doing other than regular workouts? im at about 260 now, though most don't belive it, and want to get down to about 200 in a few years (slow and steady)... but what eating habits/supplements are you taking?

I'd like to lose a few pounds too. In 2005 I lost 70 lb., going from "Obese" to the middle of "Normal" range (which is actually the skinny range). Since then, I've gained about half of that back. I hope riding my bicycle to work will help me get going on the weight loss thing again.

man, regular workouts and running. running is the best cardio. as for diet, just eating regular meals that are fairly health. nothing crazy, just a normal meal. i cut out sweets, junk food and fast food. as for supplements, i have a protein shake 2-3 times a day

back in 1997 - 1998, I lost 135 lbs. Over 18 months. Stopped eating choc, snacks, chips and quit drinking Pepsi. Also walked alot everyday.
This is the time I met my wife, got married and then of coarse gained it all back! Haha! fooled her!!
But anyway, started diet again this year on Jan 1st and have lost 25 so far this year.
Dieting is the hardest thing ever!

i don't consider mine dieting. I consider it a life change. I will try to eat healthier and workout for the sake of being in shape

just try to stay with the changes man, it creeps back on you slowly if you slip back into the old eating habbits. Took me around 10 years to gain all mine back, but know it was all 100% my fault for slowly going back to my old ways. I am doing it again, but this time not to find a wife (still very much in love with my wife, I met in 1998) but this time to be more able to play, run , ect with my little 3 1/2 year old daughter.
Good Luck!

A diet is by defintion a change in eating habits.

Glad to hear you broke 200. I'm trying to get up to 180, I gained about 5lbs in 2 weeks from hitting the weights hard and protein supplements through-out the day. But, I'm not one of those who just eat everything to gain weight. I'm pretty good about what I eat and I still do cardio everytime I go into the gym. I can't wait for it to warm up again so I can run outside and build my endurance back up. Treadmills FTL!

Congrats! i have alota friends who have some serious trouble droppin the lbs

I moved out of my parents house at 19. Started drinking every day, lived on nothing but pizza rolls and ramen noodles. Went from 180 to 230 in like 8 months. stayed fluxing around that weight until i was around 21 then i learned i dont need to drink that much all the time lol, also i can actually cook some food instead of microwaving everything. all i did was cut back to casual occasional drinking and eating normally and i went from 230 down to about 190 in like 6 months.

recently i started eating like garbage again and drinking more.. in the last few months ive gained near 10 pounds. im almost at 200 again. damn breakup back in november is taking its toll. no more need to cook for the g/f and do nice things and take walks etc. now im just being a lazy bastard again..

just remember muscle weighs ~35% more than fat for a given volume. if you're looking to "bulk up" you might wanna try to get to about 175-180 before building mudcle, or if you're just toning up 190 would be fine.

running is good, but the impact on joints is hard, especially if you have stress fractures in your shins and feet like i do. for a less-impact cardio workout NOTHING beats swimming if you have the accomodations! but, you cant drown while running... there's trade offs i guess :D

you mean body weight or lbs per foot. lol. body fat percentage is more important though. Take it from a premed student.

Yep, same goal here. This was me in 2005; before: 240, after 170.

I'm at about 205 now, I'd love to get to that 185-190 mark. Maybe we should have a race to see who gets there first!

yeah, exactly. thats what im thinking. im about 6'2/6'3 and u really cant tell that i weigh 230.... so even if i can manage to get down to about 200, id be happy there, but id prolly keep going, n then try to build some muscle..

i gotta go sign up at a gym n hit the treadmill.

Pete03GLS
02-21-2008, 11:26 PM
yea, im also curious, what kind of stuff can i get, from like a GNC store or something... to help lose weight? something healthy, none of that ****ing TV diet pill ****...

my diet basically consists of... NO JUNK FOOD, NO SODA, and as much excercise as my lazy *** can muster up... so if theres anything HEALTHY i can take to help burn fat or something, someone let me kno
