i did as well...on wednesday!! we had three of them come into hte dealership.

i'll tell ya what....after driving some 400+ hp evos...it seems slow....not to mention it weights like 500lbs more then the evo9 or 8.

cornering is improved....the electronic yaw control and electric limited slip in the rear really make a difference.

again i'm in ilans boat....38 grand...no thanks....but 25k rwd coupe...here i come!

When you drive an Elantra every day, the Evo can never be that slow, I have driven porsches too, I would still buy the Evo X and have it put out 400+ HP

yeah i haven't driven an awd car yet but rwd kills everything, i've been in a rmr (mr2) but it felt weird to me around corners at high speed. I'd go for an older evo myself or sti.

-edit I found out the insurance wouldn't be that much for me if I bought an evo 9 itd be like $130 a month for me full coverage. i was told that it is usually $300+ for my age <22>

Ya Ralliart model is a bit more attainable, with the same engine just detuned ;)

im sure its a beast inside, but i still think the thing is uglier than the bastard child of Frankenstein and Roseanne. give me the EVO X internals in an EVO VIII or IX ANY day! :D (I only have the right to ***** and complain 'cause i'll not afford one for a long time...) :)

i agree with u moon.... i really dislike the looks of the X.... gimmie a 8 or 9 ANY DAY! even without the internals of a X... id still take a 8 or 9... regardless!!!

i heard it was the 4g block...like in the older evos that were going to be in the ralliart...

we are not going to see them for a good coupld of months due to the release of the evo

ilan....almost anything is faster then the XD...but it doesnt touch the hopped up evos that i have driven while at the dealership. :kick:

I think it looks much better than the new STI. That thing is hideous.

But those Evos were hopped up, that means that the X can be too:eek::D

Recheck that Derrik. Other sources are saying detuned EXO X engine.

Unlike the last Ralliart, this one starts with the right drivetrain parts — genuine Evo-derived stuff. Instead of a dull, naturally aspirated 2.4-liter engine, it has a detuned version of the Evo X's turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder good for an estimated 235 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque.

And its 09 model year so ya it will be due out in the fall.

Mechanical

Lancer Ralliart is powered by the new 4B11 2.0-liter DOHC MIVEC intercooled and turbocharged engine (also used in the Lancer Evolution) that develops an estimated 235 horsepower. The engine is mated to Mitsubishi's efficient Twin Clutch-SST gearbox that helps enhance the sporty nature of the vehicle by allowing the driver to execute lightning-quick, silky-smooth, paddle-actuated shifts. The TC-SST transmission also operates in fully automatic modes for Normal and Sport driving conditions.

The Lancer Ralliart's full-time 4WD driveline features Mitsubishi's Active Center Differential (ACD). The ACD unit employs an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch center differential, vectoring drive torque to the front and rear according to different driving conditions to realize the best balance between steering response and traction characteristics on Tarmac, Gravel, or Snow surfaces.
Lancer Ralliart is also equipped with front helical limited slip differential and a rear differential mechanical limited slip differential.

In Canada its 41k for the GSR, MR is 47k. I think our dollar is almost the same as US, if not a little stronger.

Silentwolf

Ya the Canadian is stronger right now by a couple of cents, and yet vehicles still cost more up there.

To get nice cars up here is rediculous on the pocket book, even if we cross the border to the US then the customs guys hammer us on the way back through...grrr.

I love the new body style of the Evo, you guys make me jealous saying how you get to drive them or they come through the dealerships for work!

I hate the old EVOs.

lets go OLD school. EVO V !!!! or even a IV !!! ok, i hate those too, i love the VIII ot IX, and as i've said to my parents and gf tons of times before, "I can only ***** about it 'cause i dont own it"

damn the dollar dropped that much uh?

yeah, the $ is weak. when i was in 7th grade $1 = appx $0.65 (or so my history teacher told us) can't imagine where its gone in the past 8 years. cant wait til 1Yen > $0.01!! or is it already?
