whew, where do i start! today was absolutely ****ing amazing! my brother is in the Air Force, and me and my mother drove down here to Florida for his his sons birthday. well hes been telling me about "evolutionm" a evo club. and hes got a friend with a sick *** evo. We were playing COD4 like 2 nights ago and i was talking to the dude with the evo, hes pushing 402awhp and i forget the TQ. mods are, 29lbs of BOOST!!!!, full turbo back exhaust, bigger intercooler, turbo timer, methanol injection, and so much more **** to list.... its a Evo VIII, and its a ****ing beast! so i was talking to him about it and today he stopped by my brothers house and picked me up, my brother follows in his truck... we get to about a 2-3 mile straight and he jumps on it, lets off at 120. then we go and turn around at the end and he tells me hes gonna do a launch, and tells my brother to line up next to him LOL yea right! it was pointless for my brother to even waste his gas trying! so we line up and he pulls a laptop from the backseat, hooks it up and was gonna do some quick tuning but the laptop wouldnt boot up fast enough... so here we go, i have a laptop in my hand and he got the tach bouncing off the revlimiter. my heart is pumping so fast about this time, and he dumps the clutch....... HOLY ****ING ****!!!11111!!! AWD really comes in handy off the line!! lol that car threw me back in the seat and was hauling ***!!!! i was smiling the whole ****ing time. i was watching the boost gauge, and it was pegged out the little "peak" light lit up and the needle was burried. we ended up hitting like 140 something when he shut it down, i turn around to find my brother and couldnt see him! lol it was absolutely ****ing amazing, i loved it!!!! we went back to my brothers and we sat and talked about cars and everything for about 45 mins, then he went to wash it..... i swear im getting an EVO as soon as i join the Air Force!!! i hope you guys enjoyed reading this!

no big deal man. and yes, MPH.... that is the fastest i have ever went. and wow, what an adrenaline rush. i forgot to get pics of it, but hes on "evolutionm.net" and "southeasternawd.com" so ill go snag some pics from him off the site. i couldnt believe i actually got to ride in it... the thing that got me was the launch, off the line... it pushed me to the seat and stuck me there.

im getting one, so ill let ya know how it is! lol but he built his self up to going that fast, so it takes time to get comfortable with it. im comfortable with 110 in the elantra LOL

400 awhp... that's a powerful Evo. My STI only has 270-ish to the wheels.

Maybe this guy just doesn't mind replacing broken parts, but hard launching these cars will eventually rip some drivetrain components apart. The amount of strain you put on the drivetrain when hard launching an AWD car is immense. For that reason, I wouldn't buy an STI or an Evo if you're looking for a car to take to the drag strip. They're best suited to rallycross, autocross, or road racing.

and hey, yamaha broke 400 in his tib heh, personally im not a huge fan of the styling of the evos the way many are, although i don't doubt one would be "fun".

and ive only gone that speed once, and i didnt want to be going that fast. After i wiped the crap off my pants and car seat seat i told my buddy not to do that again with me in the car (turbo eclipse)

^ yeah but a 400 whp tib will just sit there and spin...the awd will MOVE...

and i would say that 400-600 is find for the evo...i have been on evomr for some time and have seen them here at the shop....they have no real issues.

i was talking to him about the stock block and all, and hes still running on stock internals, and the stock turbo. he said the stock block can hold up to 500 horses, which i dont doubt. The AWD drivetrain is another story, i bet if he launched his car like that everyday, every chance he got, theres no doubt he would be breaking ****. but its not even his DD, its his toy... lol and check this out, he has his evo, and his DD is a cavalier, and he bought his wife a brand new car, and pays $138 a month for insurance, for all 3 vehicles!!! MILITARY FTW! lol
