so i disabled the door chime today, i unplugged the correct wire and i am posotive i unplugged the correct wire. when its unplugged the "air bag" light comes on. so i plugged it back in, and the air bag light stayed off. unplugged it again and the air bag light stays solid. this makes absolutley so sense to me...

I have a bright blue LED for my dome light, so I can tell if the door is open or not. Kinda hard to miss that.

maybe its just 1 single wire that u can pull, from the 3 that are in the plug, try that if u want.

Look on webtech to see if you can find a diagram for the wiring harness before you start pulling random wires.

Good luck with that. Sounds like more trouble than it's worth for a couple of ding-ding's.

i have an 06 and i did not even look at wiring **** that, open ur door and stick ur hand up under there till you feel it. it literally shakes with each ring, then unplug it. i have no air bag light. if you have an air bag light you are pulling the wrong plug. there are two wires you can pull, if i remember right, to get the chime to turn off. same deal on the lc2 accents.

Meh. No Air Bag light for me, and I have an 05. And I wrote the DIY.
There is a very small difference in the schematic between the 05 and 06. On each car, the "hot" pin for the bell comes from connector M05 which is labeled "Key Illumination & Door Warning Switch" From there, the wire comes to the chime bell connector (M30) amd goes into the ETACM (where it is apparently grounded when the chime is meant to ring). On 05 and prior models it says nothing at connector M05 but on 06 models it says "W/O IMMO"[BILIZER] at M05. I wonder if that change freaks out the ETACM somehow if you unplug the bell?

Make sure all the other cables are plugged in right...and that your have securely kept the chime box cable away from anything that'd make it short out.
Hope it helps.
