i am a magna certified master auto detailer and have been for the last 10/11yrs. before that i was a certified chef.

i make 15.00 an hr, + a little ot. my health ins is 160 amonth. all my monthly bills are 1200.00 or less, minus gas and food. i dont drink (well, a lil), i dont go to bars or clubs. i dont smoke (quit 5 months ago). i am happily single, but do have 2 friends w/benefits chickas i hang with. plus i do hella side work in summer/spring/fall totaling about 7000.00 to 11,000.00 tax free :D

the paint is called carbon. there is NO clear over the top coat. there is nothing i can do to remove any scratched what-so-ever. its non shiney paint.

What car was that clip of? Anyway, that's a lot of sweet rides. I was at the Grand Rapids auto show and you guys had some cars there. If I were going to be going exotic and picking from your dealership, I'd probably take a Spyker. I'd never heard of them, but they are sharp looking and the interior reminds me a bit of the Veyron.

What a sweet job. I used to detail limousines up here in the great white north, and loved that. It was a hard job but at the end of the day they all looked like they were just rolling off the lot. My boss wanted me and the other detailer to start working on detailing his clients cars, but I was forced (due to my visa running out) to stop working. I wouldn't have seen as many supercars as you do, but it would have been pretty good for up here.

I would love to detail a car like that though. I love that kind of work.

once a yr in august, we have a HUGE car/truck old vintage cruise down woodward avenue. this lasts 3 days and stretches for about 15 miles each way on a 10lane rd (5 lanes each side). next to my old work, the Pantera club would rent it out. they had about 20 panteras all lined up for showing. all yrs, all colors, ect.

ask evan how the drive was from the freeway to my old work (4 miles). it took him about 1.5hrs to get to where we were at. lol

dude, who are you. high end cars are not made cheaply. if you happen to watch "how its made" last night on discovery channel. they irionically showed how the rolls royce is made. they take 2 weeks and are HAND CRAFTED!!!!! from start to finish. HAND CRAFTED bro, not on an assembly line like GM or Ford.

evan, thats the delaership way. i charge depending on the car for side jobs. my minimum charge for a full detail is 250.00-300.00 per car. thats a minimum charge, it all depends on what car, what color, how bad the paint is, what i have to do on the inside as to what i actually charge a custome. and you bet your azz if they are rollin in a 200,000.00+ car im raping their azz for 350.00+ a car.

15-20 an hr is for someone who knows their stuff here in Mi. in cali, i would expect nothing less than 25.00 to start. mainly cause cali's cost of living is so damn high. honestly, i should be upwards of 18.00 an hr. but when i quit my other job (which was F'n dumb), i took this job cause i needed a job basically (new $180,000.00 condo to pay for), i knew there is room for advancement in pay rather quickly here, they sell 5 different high line vehicles (which if i move to arizona or south beach ill be guaranteed a job anywhere at top dollar).

lmfao, NO. i dont want to hope that i sell a car to make ends meet. id rather know that im gonna make a pay check when i punch in. but at the other dealership i worked at, i sold 3 cars. one was a 40th anniversary boxster to D-12. yes, D-12. i think he bought it for his boy. i got a % of the commission from the cars i did sell and i get a % from the people i bring in and hook them up with my salesman buddies. plus those guys set me upo with side jobs, which in turn i toss them 10-20% of the total money i make just for setting me up with the side job.
