i wonder if carbonman would make one, i think that would be sick, if you had a carbon hood. all you would see from the front would be carbon fiber.

pff.. people won't buy a carbon hood or special tib bumper because everyone is broke, i doub't anyone will actually have money for a carbon bumper.
I don't blame on people not having money for it, our country is so broke, its all because of the recesion where going trough and high gas prices. $3.59 for regular! damn!

fenders would be a better idea.

I'd also tack some of the blame for our brokeness on a great lack of responsible spending and saving.
A carbon fiber bumper would look amazingly sweet, but I wouldn't trust going anywhere with it...one shopping cart hits it and you're pretty much screwed.

i have thought about asking someone to make fenders. too much hassle and cost.
fenders would be a better idea.
Hella better idea than bumpers.Believe it or not,Hyundai bumpers do not weigh much to begin with

It would be nice to have them all , imagine: Carbon Fiber Hood, Bumpers, fenders, mirrors, grill, and Trunk, that would be SEX all over the XD.
i would paint my car and lip kit black to look good with all that carbon fiver.

The problem isn't really money, at least not with the tib bumper. Alot of people just don't trust EF.

Perhaps it's a good idea, but yeah, people won't even buy a hood from Carbonman, and that is something that a lot of people should want.
The problem with all Hyundai owners is price, come on Jim, don't try to push it off as something else. It always has been price and it always will be price.

Thanks you exactly. i would love to have the carbon fiber hood for my car. but spending 700 on a hood that will last 3 years, if that before it needs to be painted to cover up all the fade is not worth it to me. to me the header was way more of a buy. i want a cf hood and trunk and when i get the money will get them both, having the trunk custom made, which will cost major $$$$! the reason most people drive hyundai's in the first place is the low pricing and the warranties, but mostly pricing.

Second that. Money is the thing, and there are better things for the money to go towards in Mods than a CF hood. Usually a CF hood, n trunk, n things like that are last on the modifying list. I'd like a CF hood, but i still have suspension, drivetrain, front lip, and more performance to worry about.

CF won't fade if its UV coated, sunlight fades it. just have it uv coated and keep it waxed and you will have 0 problems.

WTF are you talking about? My hood is about 4 years old and has NO FADE at ALL. And the amount of CF on my hood is more than any amount you have on your car all around at the moment ;)

yeah the only cf thing that faded on my car was my spoiler and it wasn't uv coated everything else is perfect and has always been in sunlight

Well EF is EF...
MY CF hood is from Extreme Dimensions.
I'm not ''trying''... I have a hood, at the moment. What you are saying is old history :) You can't compare one manufacturer for another. I work with fibers all day... There are MANY ways to do it.

whats with the new dry infusion and black ice then???
CornbreadXD
03-01-2008, 11:19 AM
im gonna assume dry infusion is another way to extract resin from the CF material to make the ratio of resin to material lower? and black ice i dunno, sounds like something to do with thermal polymers but i could be wrong cause I don't read up on composite news that much. Carbonman would know

as long as the clear coat on the hood is as good as the factory paint, it shouldnt matter. its not that carbon fiber fades, its the fact that they use cheap clear coats, and not enough of it.
