what kind of muffler have you guys had experience with?

it will be a 2.5 DP back....

i want it to be on the quite side...as my kid will be in the car...

so any suggetions on a muffler would be helpful.

i'm running a 3'' mandlre bend exhasut on my car and it's not much loader then what a stock tiburon would be....

i would go with a good high flow converter, 2 good resonnators and a magnaflow muffler
2.5 or 3'' your choice

Well Derek I have the ARK exhaust and its got a giant can on the end of it but because of the turbo its almost completely silent under throttle. I would say that as long as you get something of decent craftmanship then you will be good to go, turbo'd cars are really nice and quiet.

I currently have a 2.5" D/P back exhaust. It's nice and quiet for being a straight through catless system.

Almost right after the DP, I have an 8"-long stainless flex pipe. Where the 2nd cat was I replaced it with a Cherry Bomb resonator (yeah, the huge skinny red ones). That's finished off with a couple of stainless tipped no-name fart-cans out the back.

It all sounds so classy...lol..but it sounds damn good, and the dBs are in check which is what matters to me as well (and my wallet like this setup too!)

it's a full day worth of work,a whole bunch of food grade stainless mandrels,a couple of feet of straight tubing,4-5 quality components (muffler,resonnators,cat)


trust me. it cost much more then you're regular e-bay cat backs....
it's 3'' over the axle
did it on a few rd tib, did it on my accent,there's space to do it,but it's a lot of work to make everything fit properly and not having any rattle

it's not a matter of doing it instead of buying it.. it's more like no one makes that kind of exhaust sytem for our cars so... custom is the only way to go

I have a resonator like that in my exhaust, and it is pretty quiet turboed. The one i have is made by vibrant and they look the exact same.
