Eh. Just some fancy trick flying in a 747. They're getting bored with those little stunt planes.

That happened in Hamburg last weekend. We had a strong storm (Emma) here.
This pilot did an excellent job!

wait if the plane was starting to go sideways why didn't he just try to make another approach before trying to get that landing?

That's one hell of a crosswind! I don't blame him for trying to land it the first time. Maybe he should have tracked more towards the right of the runway so that when he straightened out he'd be in the middle.

That is how a plane lands in a crosswind. They turn the nose into the wind a little and straighten it out once the rear tires touch down.

and if they land wrong there is a chance everyone on board will die in hellfire on tarmac? I'd hate to have someone in control of my life at that point.
