well as all of you know i REALLY thought about doing widebody. now that i got my new bumper in and have to lift my car to just below stock height(AG Springs) what do you guys think i should do. please use the poll and no discussions. just state ur opinion and vote, anything goes off topic at all and mods you have my permission to close the thread. i want no bull**** in this thread people.

wheres the poll?

EDIT: oh there it is.

its hard to say, do u have any pictures of what it may look like, any thing we can get an idea of what ur lookin for? that might help in the vote. its hard for me to say yes or no for something i cant quite imagine on an elantra.

i think its funny that both of you voted yes before hand though, anyways enough filling this thread with crap let others post thier opinions.
and yes about as wide as that, just well the noticeable differences people. tuscani bumper and kdm side skirts, all molded.

I seen that body kit on another thread here talking about different kits to choose from and which was liked more and it had a poll as well. And i really loved that one as well. I think it would make a fine car to have a wide body kit on. I'm just afraid at all the work involved into something like that.

jobzombi
03-05-2008, 10:27 AM
I think it looks hot, is there a body kit for it like that or do you have to get custom flares molded into the car by a body shop? It looks like it was molded in to the tire well, the rear doors, skirts, front and rear bumpers. If you got the money I say do it, plus if done right you can get wider wheels in the front and rear.

SuperGLS

I will not be buying a kit as some may think, i am getting universal aftermarket overfenders and getting them molded to the car. not going for the bolt on look im actually gonna have everything molded.

alright thanks everyone. i think i am still gonna be doing it, just worried about how it will look with such a minimal drop. i think i gearing towards making the car look more "factory" but different if that makes sense.

Hey, if you guys are going to be slapping on some universal fender flare, why not go with the M&S Carart fender flare set that they made specifically for the Tiburon? Aren't the wheel wells on the Tib and Elantra pretty similar anyway?

Any flare with the same arch would work. What ever you get is going to take a ton of molding and shaping.

You had said you were going to get your bumper painted before you start these, I wouldn't. Your car is going to get a full repaint when your done with this mod so, hold off on the bumper till you get all the bodywork done. Plus to make this look right, the flares are going to have to be molded to the bumper too, not just the body.

SilverElantra
03-06-2008, 06:09 PM
well i can get everything put on and just not painted in about 2 months or i can get the bumper put on and the rest later on down the road. depends on if i wanna look at my car half primered or not.

cbogg
03-06-2008, 10:12 PM
well if you're thinking of going up a little, want flares, and wanna be different, you could always trim the fender under the flare and go with some monster german style dishes. the bimmers always look pretty hot that way, and you can stick a dollar bill on the lip w/o it falling off! lol

why even post a poll? Its obvious that this has to be done. Its gonna take a while for the bodywork though and some $$$. You should repaint to car too, if you keep it silver maybe add a pearl or something to it. or maybe 2-tone on the body line gunmetal/silver silver/darker pearl silver etc. keep it classy though

Fender flares are the parts used to give a widebody appearance. Or you could get widebody fenders and 1/4's. Eitherway, it's considered widebody.
