View Full Version : Guaging Interest...M&S lip kits for $450?

I've got a bunch of M&S Carart's lip kits sitting around that have basically been collecting dust for the couple of years. Would anyone be interested in a ridiculous GB-like sale for a minimum of 5 orders if I sold the whole kits for $450? (Shipping would be about $150--which I'll quote on a case-by-case basis). Literally, this is quite a bit below what these parts cost me, but I'd rather get them out the door at this point as opposed to taking up space in the warehouse. I just need to confirm what model years I've got these for, but I'll let you all know in a bit...

Oh and...I've also got some M&S Carart 4-dr rear spoilers sitting around. I'll get a pic up here soon enough if it's not the same one as pictured above...

That is a bit high for a lip kit, but compared to the actualy price of it. anyways are these available for the xd2 also, from you. also will you sell separate pieces?

i may be interested, the $450 price doesn't include shipping which makes it seem high imo. is it fiberglass though, im gonna be on ksports and kinda low and the roads here suck and the kit might not work on trips to PA where my towhooks scraped on the hills.

Wow, if you guys think $450 for a full lip kit is high, then you really shouldn't be modding your cars at all. These used to sell for about $900!

$450 for a decently made lip kit is a good price, whether its a good design is a defferent story IMO, if you don't like the price Don't buy it. pretty easy huh

Well, I originally imported 25 of these, so I did sell quite a few. I know that Motor Impact/Mussa also imported a similar number (probably between 20-30 kits) and they've sold out altogether.

like j said, if your willing to sell pieces i would be interested in a front lip for my 02gls
Yes, I'll part them out--$200 for the front lip.

You do realize that we own Hyundais, right?
Yes, but that doesn't mean you're on welfare, does it? $450 for a full lip kit is an extremely generous price--especially considering what these have sold for throughout the years.

you realize Mike has been selling Body Kits to hyundai owners for a LONG time right>?

$450 for a decently made lip kit is a good price, whether its a good design is a defferent story IMO, if you don't like the price Don't buy it. pretty easy huh
I got my first Tiburon FX in 1997 and have been a member of the Hyundai tuning community since then. Imported my first bodykits back in 2000 when I got my RD2 Tib and then moved onto primarily GK kits after January 2002 when I got my '03 Tib GT. So yea--I've been in the market for a while now.

I am highly interested, but do you have any that fit XD2's model year 2004-2006?
Unfortunately, no. I do not believe I have any XD2 kits left. I only imported about 15 of those and they probably sold out--unless there happens to be one sitting amongst the XD kits. I'll check for you guys.

but like i said, is it fiberglass or poly? I can't remember how these were made.
ALL Hyundai bodykits are made of fiberglass. Unfortunately, a lot of people are not aware that there are varying levels of fiberglass, so they automatically relate ANY fiberglass composite to the crap that's sold on Ebay or those generic bodykit websites. The fact of the matter is that the overwhelming majority of Korean-made fiberglass materials are excellent composites that are just as resilient as polyurethane! Thankfully, M&S Carart spends quite a bit of money on R&D, so their fiberglass certainly is top-notch. With all the 03-06 Tiburon kits that are out there, I'm sure we would have heard even the slightest peep about M&S Carart's fiberglass being poor in quality if that was the case. The truth is that it's proven itself over the past several years to be well worth the money--whether a kit's priced at it's regular price of ~$900, a blowout rate of $450, or even the most intricate widebody that goes for over $2000!

I'm also interested if you could ship overseas (Germany)...
And btw.: please answer the fiber-or-poly-question ;)
Yes of course! I ship to Europe just about every day, so there's certainly no problems with sending a kit to you. Please either PM or e-mail me (sales@importshark.com) with your complete shipping address and I will calculate the delivery fees. The last lip kit I sent to Germany cost around $200 via 2-3 day air freight. I assume your shipping rate will be in the $150-$250 range--but please contact me and I'll find out for sure.

lol, thanks. this is one of the last things i need, but for the price i cant say no.

This is Mike, btw. And yes, these are IN STOCK AND READY TO SHIP OUT! I just have to get the warehouse guys to unpack them from the huge M&S super carton and package in our individual lip kit cartons for each order.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, I hope that answers all of your questions. It seems like there's enough interest, so I'll post up a GB right away. I guess EXD's got more traffic, so I'll post up the GB on these boards. Oh and, if there's anyone in the LA area who might want to pick up the kit and save on shipping, you're more than welcome to. If you guys have any other questions, feel free to ask!

Hows fitment on these? I've heard of some lip kits needing some trimming/slight modding to fit properly. I know you said M&S makes a good quality kit but you understand, I just have to ask.

M&S's kits do not require any modification to fit them on. Literally, we're talkin about a complete install that takes 10 minutes tops if you know what you're doing. If you're a complete newb at it, figure a half hour. Child's play.

It's probably real close. I see you're in Cali--too bad you're not in the LA area because I'd love to have someone swing by the warehouse to do a quick test fit! Do you know of anyone else who might be within driving distance? My warehouses are in 91733 and 91789 if anyone needs to Mapquest it.

I think the rear should fit since our bumpers are almost identical.
but if you get the rear i would also get the sides to go with it, i think it would match the tib bumper nicely and evenly.

Good luck on selling these.

ALL Hyundai kits are not glass. Astrel/EGR kits are poly, they are OEM in Aussie land. I don't think we are worried about the quality of the glass, it's the durability of Poly FTW. My xd was stock height and scraped the Astrel kit so hard a few times that I think would have killed a glass lip.

Like I said good luck and keep up the hard work bringing us Hyundai goodies.

I should have the money within two weeks, If I'm 100% at that point. Not so sure yet, though. Since you're parting out, how much would it be for the sides and back? I want to eventually get the tibby bumper up front, so I won't need the front lip.

What condition are they in? Primered?

Sorry, I was just generalizing about kits that are regularly available in North America. You'd be surprised how much of a beating that a HIGH QUALITY fiberglass bodykit can take. Like I said last time--M&S Carart's composite is nowhere near the crap that you find on Ebay.

Eh...figure $250 for the sides/rear. And it doesn't matter if a bodykit is pre-primered or not--it's still got to be completely sanded down anyway. (Then primered, then sanded again, then wet sanded, then painted, then wet sanded again, then buffed).

With that said, it looks like some of the front lips are primered, some are not, and I've even got one that M&S painted OEM black for some reason. (Sorry about the dust)...

$250 isn't bad for sides and rear..not bad at all. How much for shipping to 46060?

EDIT: How much for the whole kit shipped to 46060 as well? I just realize I'd have to raise my car for the tibby bumper, so I may just do the full kit after all and use the money I set aside for the bumper.

I usually give flat rates for lip kits and hoods of $125 to a business or $150 to a residence. (Full replacement bumper bodykits are a bit more due to the size). In your case, the shipping rate wouldn't change, regardless of whether you get a full lip kit or just the sides and rear simply because I will use the same carton.
