list any tickets/accidents and your monthly rate or 6 month rate. and your insurance provider and other cars on your rate.

so im pissed at my insurance co right now. i have unitrin direct and everything started out fine me and the elantra 185/mo. added my brother's pos camry and it went up $27. then added my sister sonata + $135. had to add my mom - $35 and my dad -$30. then there was fees for SR22s to make the cars legal again $15 a pop so its like $350 or something like that. BUT somehow they found out i deliver pizzas (even tho that is my secondary job now) and they said "drop the elantra or we won't renew your policy" so basically i find a new insurance company or quit my job!!! >_<

I just paid $850 for 6 months on my 2002 Elantra and the wife's 2004 Vibe. My driving record has been clean since I got the insurance (Progressive only checked back 3 years, not 5). The wife however has had a speeding ticket and an accident in that time. At the time of the accident, she was still on her parents insurance though, not on mine/ours.

But damn it feels good to be a gansta. Mine is $1053 for the year, so it works out to $525 for 6 months, 180 down, and I think my payment's gonna be like 85 bucks month. I've had basically a clean driving record. No tickets, 1 accident that wasn't my fault (flipped my POS saturn). For that I get basic comp and collision, full glass, and $1400 in rental coverage if the car is in the body shop. I was paying $693 for 6 months with Unitrin, they were the cheapest and I've been with them for 3+ years now, for basically the same coverage with only $900 in rental, and my renewal for this coming term was going to go UP $4, which is retarded because my accident is now outside the 40 month window they use. I switched to Erie Insurance, so now I have an actual agent, that's 15 minutes away from my house (as opposed to talking to some call center), it's cheaper, better, and I also was able to get $12000 in rental coverage for $105 bucks a year. So suck in that Unitrin!

I pay $59 a month for the Z which includes life insurance. Before the XD was totalled I got it down to $130 a month for full coverage and life insurance. no POINTS tickets :). and no accidents on my behalf that were reported.
reece it could be because people in D.C. don't have insurance so it spills over to you. and wow crazie [you<driving in 07.] why were did you need to go that fast? You know at that speed you can be impaled by stuff. I don't worry about myself I worry about other people when I drive. I know what im doing but other people don't have the road as their #1 priority.

p.s. your sig needs to be updated, i think there are more than 5 black folk now.

I pay like 130 a month for liablity and comprehensive. I have 2 tickets. One that drops off my insurance July 15th and the other comes off October 2nd. I'll renew in November so hopefully, It'll be a nice drop in insurance.

$200/month for me full coverage, $250 deductible on everything.

1 accident, my fault, not major, less than $4k damage total to both.
1 ticket - 54/45 - 2 points. Got it Jan. 06

Took a huge jump after the accident though, was like $150 before then. Sucks, need to raise my deductible.

i WAS paying 206/mo w/ progressive for full coverage, and if i renewed my renters, it would be another 23-24/mo, totalling about 230/mo

went to State Farm last month, got FULL coverage, renters insurance, 250 comp deductible, 500 collision, for 137$/mo

lately, driving record good. they went back 3 years, i had an accident (no ticket, didnt go thru insurance, filed an accident report incase i wanted to) in dec 05, which she didnt count against me. other than that, only 2 "equipment violations" tickets, which arent moving, and have no points. one was for tint, one i pleaded down to that from speeding 70 in a 55. prosecutor was cool about it.

I am getting screwed. I am paying $135/month for just liability.

go to a local state farm agent if they have them in your area, and your record is decent. dont do it online...agents will save you a few more bucks, AND youll have someone to deal with directly

Yeah, that's cuz you're OLD! it's hard to get in an accident if you're never above 5 mph! that's why it's so cheap! that and you don't live in ny, so you're not gettin it from the man!

it is funny to read how speeding can influence on your insurance rate. We don't have this in europe.

What is the speed limit in US anyway? I mean on multi-lane open roads, out of city limits (autobahn equivalent), and what are fines to go, say, 20mph over the speed limit?
Can you go to jail only because of speeding? We just have very high fines for serious offences - up to 1800$ if you go more than 35 above speed limit. Good thing is that we have very poor control over speeding + cops can sometimes be bribed... :P

depends on where you're at. sometimes 55 sometimes 65 but if your out in the stix then probably 75. but if you're that far out you know all the cops anyway ^_^

so who's with me on moving to europe??

Bodily and Property: 100,000/300,000/100,000
PIP aggregate: 10,000 ea person ($0 deductible)
Uninsured Motorists/ for bodily injury: 100,000/300,000 ea person
Auto (motorcyclist) medical payments: 5,000
Auto collision insurance: actual cash value ($100 deductible/$250 deductible on bike)
Auto comprehensive insurance: actual cash value ($0 deductible/$250 deductible on bike)
towing and labor: $50

I have liability only on my 02 hatch. I have no tickets on my record, but I totaled my last car (my fault) in June.

I just got an e-mail for my premium and it was for 260. For 6 months, so I'm paying $43/month. And yes I'm old, well at least in comparison to all of the people here who can't drink legally yet.

I had comprehensive on my last car but I dropped it when I got the Elantra. I got the quote from the insurance company of $460 every 6 months. Why in the hell would I want to pay 20% of what I paid for the car every year? That being said I curbed the the car this winter when I hit a sheet of ice. That cost me $1200 out of my pocket. It would have only been $700 if I had kept the insurance, I carry a $500 deductible on my vehicles when I have comprehensive. Do I wish I had insurance when it happened sure? But in 15+ years of driving that was my 3rd accident. The first when I was 16, the 2nd two within 6 months of each other. See I told you I was getting old.

anywhoo,
With State Farm:

no speeding tickets
1 ticket for expired plates/ failure to show registration or insurance (didn't even realize i lost them until i needed them, oops)

Discount for homeowners insurance
Discount for multi-car (i only have one, but since my first and last name are the same as my dads they sort of "bent" the rules for me, hes been with them for like 30 years so they are nice to our family :D)

Full coverage
$500 deductable

$98 per month.
and I'm only 24, i should get a drop later this year when i hit 25, even if i don't i can't complain, less then 100 is frickin awesome around here..

$430 every 6 months, geico PA, for my elantra. One thing that I found about signing up with geico online, tell them you are a lawyer or a doctor, apparently they make you pay less if you are one. May go in hand with the statement above about dropping the elantra because of the job they had.
