I was in a really busy parking lot looking for a parking spot, and i found one that would be hard to back out of because of alot of cars passing by, I decided to back in it instead so it would make it easier to pull out of, and as i was backing in to the spot this toyota corolla stuck his nose in and i could not see him so i hit him with the left corner of my rear bumper.
here is his damage

weak *** toyrolla, i dunno who is at fault but it might be his if he didn't honk his horn or anything and it seems like he let you back into him. that kinda happend to my dad before when he was backing out of a spot, some woman drove behind and let him back into her. he only paid for $200 of her damage out of pocket damage because her insurance was iffy and she was trying to scam it.

he said he honked but i had my windows up and i did not hear anything.
the only honk i heard was when i had already hit him.

No, only when it comes to who get's the ticket. Since it's private property, the person at fault can't get a ticket, and they deem it no ones fault. But in a situation like this when the cop deems the accident no ones fault, the insurance companies will blame the person who is more at fault than the other. Whoever has the highest percentage of at-faultness has to pay! It happened to me!

yeah, its a 50/50 chance that either of us are at fault. I got to see what my insurance provider says.

The insurance companies might as well cut the crap and settle it with paper/rock/scissors. At least that way you're somewhat involved.

Generally parking lot accidents do not get declared fault because of accidents like this. too hard to tell.
I got hit in a parking lot a couple years ago, and the insurance company said...Oh well, file a comprehensive claim. Cop said the same thing. I didnt care, didnt do any damage to my car, but the camry that ran into me needed a new fender and head light.

I hope i get to settle with a similar claim, because i have no damage.

Looks like you could take the bumper skin off that rolla and just pop that dent out. Probably never tell a difference.

yeah, you shoulda called the cops anyway and had them file a report. if you're backing in, and he's being a dick or not paying attention, which seems to be the case, it's totally not your fault.

There was no need to call the cops, cops here take forever to show up anyway.
Im going to call my insurance on monday and tell them my side of the story, that i checked my mirrors when i was backing up, there was no car, i was backing in and this guy in the corolla just kept moving forward, got in my way and so i hit him. he should of honked, but obviously he wasn't paying attention.
