I'm trying to convert some incompatible MP4's to iPod MP4's to work on my iPod. However, when the conversions are complete, the audio is out of sync with the video and I hate watching videos like that. Anyone know what causes this?
Gonna try to changethe output framerate to 24 instead of 29 since it seems the video is getting sped up! Hopefully it works!

yep thats your problem. NTSC is 24fps and the audio is recorded to match that. at 29, the audio will be off.

:abovelol: WOW! That's funny. Sorry man, don't mean to be a dick. ;)
NTSC video (TV) is broadcast at 29.97 FPS.
Film (movie films) is broadcast at 24p. Or 23.98 If you wanna get really technical.
So by changing it to 24 should fix it, since the audio was recorded for 24fps, rather then the 30. So if its about half a second faster then the video, that's all you need to do to fix it.

The spefic video types I was playing with were music videos that I downloaded. I was able to find a free iPod video converter called Videora that solved the problem. You can't adjust the framerate in the program, but somehow it automatically matches the audio and video during the conversion. The only drawback to the program is the massive amount of ads which really slows down my computer when running it; and no bulk converting. You have to select 1 at a time versus being able to shift-click all the ones you want. Now I gotta play with some movies.

If you didnt want to be a dick is say, no, NTSC is television standard, not movie standard. I was right on the speed, but had the terminology wrong. Good job on being a dick though, tack one to the list.
Hahaha, anytime man.
But you did indeed hit the nail on the head. Kinda. haha
