Get a flush done to clean out the bits of rust/dirt you get in the cooling system.

Possible head gasket leak. Engine oil will make the glycol get brown and crappy looking. Keep checking the engine oil level , it will be going down if it is leaking into the cooling system. Overheating a car can sometimes cause this. Pressure testing cooling system should help confirm problem.
This type of leak will really change glycol color; not just small specs. Small chunks of solids could be from old rad core.

flush the system out at least twice then check it after a few miles, its likely rust buildup and old coolant that hardened

Use radiator flush chemicals to do so until water runs out clear. The fill out with new 50/50 coolant and if it turns brown again you have internal engine problems. Head gasket dead or damaged water pasages on block or head. Check oil levels like 2001VE said.
