So I dunno if the Entourage and Veracruz use the same wiper motor or what, or drivetrain, but two friends who got Hyundais partially based on me having very little problems with my XD2 have had similar problems, one has an Entourage, the other a Veracruz, both 2008.
Out of nowhere, the front wipers just die. My friend in the Veracruz was driving in the squall Friday night when they kicked the bucket and he basically abandoned i.e. had it towed to the dealership cuz he wasn't able to see. Friend with Entourage, wipers died in the rain in the late fall. kaput. Both fixed under warranty, but this is a big safety concern.
Other problem is the auto transmission getting stuck in 3rd gear. I don't know the full problem, but I believe in the Veracruz he shifting into N didn't do anything and couldn't get it into R/P. He had to stop, shut off the car, which then allowed him to shift back into P, and when he restarted it was okay. With the Entourage I think he was able to get it freed by wobbling the shiftronic back and forth a thousand times...
Just in case anyone else has heard of people with the same problems- I don't think it's isolated...
