This is the Kia KOUP concept, not a Spectra. Although, when it goes to production it might be a Spectra model I suppose. The key thing to remember is that it is all concept at this point.

The sad thing is that if the production version of this comes out, it won't look anything like the concept or have half the features. I got very excited about the Accent SR a while back, then when the new Accent came out, it had almost none of the features or styling of the SR concept. :(

If Hyundai (Kia) could actually bring their concepts to the market, they'd be selling even more cars in the US market.

Somehow I don't see Kia launching this concept as-is. This doesn't fit their profile as a bare-bones cheap alternative to Hyundai. On a positive note, I REALLY like the lit fender scoop... I want!

Autoblog didn't have the good pics/video/info until after the original posting Mr. Autoblog Has So Many Better Pics. Hah.

Anyway, it's interesting to see what they are predicting for the Theta in turbo form. That's the most promising thing about this KOUP. The design is pretty cool, I like it, but like Jim said, it'll be fairly watered down when it gets to production, even if they designate this as Hyundai version of the Tiburon. I don't think there is any way it would have the same power as the Genesis coupe, leaving the only difference in the RWD. Just doesn't seem like something Hyundai would do.

Can't wait to see what the Hyundai/Kia lineup is like in 2010.

EDIT - I just compared them The rear is pretty different, the taillights have the same angle, but you'll notice that the outermost edges angle different ways. The C pillar is totally different (sedans vs coupes always are). The front looks a little similar I suppose, but the "brake ducts" as Kia seems to be calling them are quite a bit different.

Those tail lights and headlights will never make it into production, its all still concept, but i hope it keeps its looks, this car will give a big boost to the kia image.

we have 2 new model of KIA that just came out on the street they look really sweet as you talked about the 2 door concept. This is a 4 door with a similar design to the concept, which is called KIA FORTE and KIA LOTZE......
