I'm going up to Seattle this weekend, leaving sometime around 5am on Saturday or Friday if I'm off really early.
I'm going to Sakura-con.....yes, I'm a anime geek :D
If anyone around the area could tell me where I could park my car where it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Even better if I could park my car free somewhere.
Thanks

I am not in Seattle, but in Tacoma. Don't know of many free parking areas in Seattle. Most are 4-10 bucks to 25 a day.
Near Seattle Center and the stadiums is the worst for parking.

cool thanks....I'll keep away from those areas even if I have to walk or take the bus.
Also does anyone know how far from Seattle the Silver Lake rest stop is? I may be spending the night there...too cheap for a hotel/motel. :D

Silver Lake is 30 miles west of Mt. St. Helens, which is about 75-80 miles south of Seattle.
Another option is the rest stop in Federal Way.

Well guess I'll update about my trip here.
I went to Seattle this weekend...left Saturday morning around 6am with about 2 1/2 hrs of sleep..hehe
The drive was cool, a few snow patches here and there thru I-5 but nothing to lose control on. Rain...yes.
Like usual I got lost easily...but found my way to the Washington Convention and Trade center...nice place btw.
Seattle needs some of their streets to get patched up....there are putholes everywhere.
My weekend at Sakura-con was awesome..not going into detail since most of the ppl here will think I'm a freak. :)
After the convention was done I took off to get back home. The drive was actually alot easier on the way back. Only problem was some stop and go situations in Tacoma and around Olympia.
BTW Tacoma seems to never finish up the I-5 project...I've gone up to B.C. twice and a few more times to Seattle throughout the past 4 years and well the road is still the same.
No snow on the way back which was a relief, since I heard on the news that it may snow.
Though there was alot of hail...nothing as big as the Texas boys see down there....but for times I couldn't see more than a few feet infront of my car. Scary
So the drive was nice...average speed for me was 65-70mph...I don't drive fast. But ocassionaly would have to get up to 85mph to pass.
My MPG was and avg of 34.8....not too bad
Got two things to do to the car though....
1-steering wheel shimmy was crazzzzy
2-Weird shaking when Idling and ticking noise. (Getting it checked by the dealer next monday)
I put down 400 miles on my car this weekend plus and extra few yesterday.
Plus I have another trip on my mind too....Going to Ashland for SOU. Which is a B!otch of a drive. :D

Yes! there was alot of cosplay....some really good ones and some well not so great. Also I don't know why but it seemed to me that there was alot of jail bait around...hehe
I didn't take pics of anyone doing cosplay since most of them will get posted on the Sakura-con forum...plus I don't like taking pics of cosplayers.
One more thing I liked about the convention were the concerts they had. Ali Project in their first outside Japan concert was just plain awesome.
There even was a Tofu delivery 101 conference...hehe
