I would choose that over the new Camaro any day.

At $42K, there are about 50 other cars I would pick before that.

Yeah, I agree^ However, in the American Muscle wars, the Challenger would also be the one for me :)

I would have to take the Camaro first - out of loyalty/nostalgia. I used to have a Z-28, I miss that car. The G8 GXP concept would be a close second. My years of driving a Chevy and Pontiac (back in the day) have embedded a resistance to Ford or Chrysler products.

The problem I have in this car is that it feels old and you can't even buy it yet (can you?). It's been at car shows for over two years already. Same as the RX-8 when it came out. That thing was in magazines in like 1989......

I do think it's a nice look car though.

I'd go with a 2008 WRX STI. It costs about that much, It beats out the '08 Mustang Cobra and most other "muscle cars", it's AWD, and it's got the shock factor 'cause it's a wagon!!!

The Challenger SRT8 is already sold out for its first model year. They pre-sold it at the dealers, since the first model year will be limited production, and only the SRT version.

Once they come out with a "regular" Challenger, there will probably be some at the dealers. You'll probably see them on the road before you see them on the showroom floor.

I wouldn't touch it with a 10 ft pole. It say's Chrysler Corp, I say hell no.

From a performance standpoint, $42k sticker almost buys a new Vette. It WILL buy a 2 year old Z06.

The little front happy-face mouth makes it look like it's coming straight outta Cars.

The Camaro and Challenger are late to the party IMHO. They should have been out at least 3-4 years ago. Now with higher gas prices I can't imagine either of these having near the level of success. Maybe the V6 Camaro will be popular among the young crowd. (Probably won't be able to afford the V8 with gas and insurance rates) The Challenger V6 models will probably wind up available at your local rental car lot in a year or two since Chrysler is hurting.

Chevy is considering putting the Turbo-4 banger from the Solstice into the new Camaro, due to rising gas costs.

Otherwise, i like the looks of the Challenger, but no thanks esp considering Dodge's mpg ratings.

What? You mean you don't like 3 gallons to the mile? But it's a Hemi.
