I'd have to say that other than the Genesis, the most exciting new car for me is the newely redisigned Maxima. May not look great in pics, but in person, I fell in love with it. Best looking Maxima ever!

I saw pics the other day and those headlights (and taillights) are just poop. Poop poop poop. The problem with the headlights speak for themselves. The rears, well, they are way too "stretchy" looking (don't like the Veracruz ones either).

I don't think so. I didn't really like the last Gen Maxima at all. It got better when they gave it a facelift last year though.

That's exactly what I said when I saw the pics on Yahoo last week. Then I came across it at the autoshow and it was gorgeous!

i like the last gen better. especially after i got to drive one quite a few times on vacation in may. that thing HAULED ***!. i mean, it was absolutely nothing to go from 45 to 75mph without even noticing it. it was smooth too.

My favorite looking Maxima will always be the 1990 Maxima.
It looks like the Honda Accord to me...I don't like it...

I liked the 99-00 style.
This one looks too close to its Infiniti cousins of which i've not been a real fan of style wise.

i think it looks pretty good, but I would have to agree that the head and taillights are too stretched out

The car looks great. It would be nice if they put the 3.5L direct-injection engine that they have in the G35.
Sidenote: My favorite 2009 car --> Chevy Cobalt SS TURBOCHARGED (260hp, 30mpg)

This car proves that we are running out of Tail lights and Head light design in this world.

Imagine if every car still used sealed beams!;)

Actually its coming to be that way. Thats what Cesar from TYC/Genera mentioned as to why they were slowly backing away from that market, since most cars were already coming with projector/sealed beams.

My choice of cars for 2009 is the new VW GTi. 200hp 2.0L w/ turbo.
That thing is sex on wheels.

As for sealed beams, I meant the old school kind where you replace the entire housing, not just a bulb. Most vehicles haven't used them since the 80's.
Silentwolf
04-03-2008, 09:23 PM
Oh i always thought of that as the whole bulb housing.

Yeah, but the "technical" term (as stated on the package) is sealed beam. Instead of bulb base sizes, they come in shapes and sizes, like square, rectangular or round, 4x6, 8x6, blah blah blah.

I agree that's the nicest Maxima yet, even if the front end does look a little Scion Tc'ish. At least that is the only Scion model that's not horribly ugly though.

Yeah but if you look at it the right way you might just see a volvo sedan too. Don't mind the camry solara rear because I love the camry solara.

After looking at the newly designed maxima... I have to say the front end looks very similar to a Scion TC. I don't know but that's just me haha :P
