One more reason to avoid circuit city. I have no respect for them after they fired a bunch of their higher paid staff and told them they could be re-hired at lower paying positions.

Best Buy isn't any better IMO. I sell plenty of replacement panels to them both for botched installs.

I find circuit city just funny is all. I had a friend of mine work there as a tech specialist and one of his co-workers came up to me while i was waiting for my friend to get off. Of course he was trying to sell me some MTX and Infinity subs saying they were some of the best subs around. I will arguably agree that the 9500 mtx is not that bad, but they didn't even have them at circuit city.
I told him i already had a system in my car anyways. Telling him it was 2 of the 12" Alpine Type R's that best buy carry. He laughed at me while asking me what kind of amplifier i had. I told him it was a modded 1501d mtx amp. We basically ended our conversation because my friend made his way off of work finally.
Needless to say i make my way out of circuit city finally to be greeted outside by the same guy laughing about my system in my car challenging me to have a bass race outside of CC. He pops his trunk and there lays 4 of the infinity 12 " subs in 2 separate slot ported box's and 2 amps going to each 2. I kind of smirked while he turned it up to hear nothing but distortion.
There just so happened to be a "cartronics" that had a db meter not even 200 yards away so i told him i didnt even wanna turn mine on unless we were 100 percent sure by seeing the numbers. He pulled in and smashed his gas on his car down to around 4500 rpm and let it rip at a whopping 122 decibels. Lemme tell yah.. boy was i scared. LOL. I burped 1 bass note out at 130 right off the bat with about 10 more left out of 40 on my volume knob.
Yah so anyways i love CC lemme just say that.

wow, that sucks for that guy
that is total balls
at least it was a civic and not an elantra..
i dont know of an install shop that does things "right".. ive been to two local shops. and also to CC and BB.. everyone uses mad shortcuts and does crappy installs. i had a set of tweeters held up with glue... not cool, esp when it got warm out and it melted and they fell inside the door..
i am 100% done using or recommending a professional install.. ever

hahaha that's why I always say no to those "free pro install" ... if I ever want to get my car messed up I'll think about it, until then I prefer taking a few hours of my time and do the install my way!

Yep, private shops or do it yourself (and/or perhaps with some help from friends)

I've swapped stereos so many times it's unreal. When I got that Dual 7" DVD player I had it in and working in about 5-6 minutes. About 4 of that was wiring.
