a small hole

So I was cleaning/oiling my k&n filter sri today and found a small hole in the meshy filtery thing (looks like it rubbed on some metal beneath it)

is this very bad or only mildly bad (I planned on replacing in a month with a lri setup anyway)

if it's got a hole in it, it's letting dirt in, so that's pretty bad. it totally defeats the purpose of an air filter.
