Turd back on the road again. . .almost

Got the turd back running and more importanly driving again. Not without difficulties though and our fair share of snapped bolts and rusted crap. All to be expected on a 146k mile car. Engine trans assembly ended up being from a 2001 3door hatch (found the VIN tag and did a quick memory decode). Snapped one of the studs on the manifold cat destroyed 6 drillbits trying to drill it out to use a bolt, all to no avail. Actually only have one bolt and a pair of vise grips on it right, uber ghetto.

Engine ticks like a MOTHER right now, lifters are dry and not pumped up, exhaust is leaking bad for obvious reasons but the trans is butter smooth. The engine is a little weaker than the one we pulled out, I'm guessing from the non-pumped up lifters. If it doesn't get quieter in a few more miles I might just swap over the other head on to the newer block. . . . we'll see.

Just pick whoever looks the least amused by the project, and that's Bob! It's good that you got it back up and running again, esp for the price you paid for the motor. The body on that accent does not look bad for almost 150k, you musta taken pretty good care of the thing. Keep us posted on your motor issues. +1 on the vise grip exhaust bolt! lol
