I juste reinstall my CAI and I have a fuel consumption problem. The indicator on the dashbord show me a consumption on 15 to 20 l/100km in city driving. It drop to 7 to 9 on the highway. When I let the car turn on idle, the consumption on the dashbord rise sloly, about 0.1l every 2 or 3 second. I try to reset the computer and unplug the battery, but still noting change. Do you have any idea wat coul cause this problem.

PS:Sorry for my english

I don't really understand what you're asking. Did you reset your ECU after you put on the CAI? Maybe your engine just needs to "learn" the new intake.

what year is your car? if you have a MAF sensor did you install it backwards? Make sure the airflow is in the direction of the arrow.

Some background info. This person is a member of our local forum aswell. Basically he says he is getting over 20 l/100km (about twice as high as normal) on his trip computer after replacing the intake for a CAI. What I am trying to tell him is to reset the ECU and give the trip PC a chance since it's not the most reliable thing ;)
