Yeah, good to see you are ok. I like all 4 of your picks.
Of your picks, here is my recommendation:
Tibby would be my first choice, not because it is a Hyundai, but because (1) it is the newest of the bunch and (2) it has the least miles.
The GTO would be my next choice, because it is 2 dr and V8.
The Audi would be the third choice, although it being a turbo and 54K on the clock I would be a little concerned about having to replace the turbo soon.
Last choice (although my favorite car of the bunch) is the Lexus, the oldest of your pics, although the cheapest, still has 114K on the clock.

If you can get to 19k a local person is selling one hell of a car:

For maintence cost and reliability, definitely go with the Tibby. You know those high dollar luxury cars come with high dollar maintanance. Tibby still has mad warranty left. Plus, you know how to work on it.

if it was my money, I'd get the GTO. those things are nasty, and you can seriously bump up the HP easily, which is healthy to begin with. my second choice, the audi, an s-line anything, is pretty awesome in my book. and drag racing for last place, is the Lex, and the tib. I'd say rock the tib, but wtf? lambo doors? somebody back me up on this one? and you know a lot of those kits require modification to the body, so to get it back to stock (ie not flaming), you'd be better off getting a different tib and modding it yourself. and who wants to buy someone else's idea? that's no fun. I like the black on white, that's pretty hot, but the doors (and who knows what else), is someone else's dream.

I wouldn't get the GTO unless it had the LS2 in it.

I wasn't too hip on the doors on the Tib either, but it does have the least amount of miles on it and is the newest - plus I really like the White/Black paint combo. My concern with the GTO is it has a few miles on it and being a 6-speed with the V-8 it probably has been beat on.

IS300 for sure. Its a toyota, so 114k miles aint that big a deal, and thats a really good price on one, and it looks like its in good condition.
Although that A6 would be hot, gas milage would kill you though
Skip the bimmers. just asking for trouble with them. especially the 318....
and the GTO, haha..no.

Premium??
Get a Smart or a Prius.
HAHA! Smart is just asking to get splatered (aka the person's insides switch places in an accident) And a prius is a joke of the hybrids and the status symbol of greenies.
Personal vote goes with the Tib then IS300, no stance on the Audi and the GTO wont look so hot when it comes to the pump.

a prius? rusto you must be itching for a ban, the prius is far beyond lame.

IS300 for me too, but I'd get a newer model, maybe a IS250 RWD. Also look at G35's, you can probably get a 04 coupe for that price range.

get the tibby, insurance will suck for the other 3, sell the lambo door kit asap
evan938
04-27-2008, 12:17 PM
i didnt like the lambo doors either, and after i looked closer, saw it was a 4cyl. :(.
i looked for a min for g35s, but they seem to be just a hair out of my range, and i think the insurance will suck on one of those...ill look into it though

Evan, I work at a Hyundai dealer we also have Nissan, Mitsu., Kia, Lexus, Acura, bunch of stuff. If you let me know the details of the what you want in a car, I can get with my used car manager, our wholesalers, other dealers I know, and see if there is anything out there that I can get you a good deal on. I just got a buddy of mine an FX35 from anothr dealer, and am in the process of getting an FX45 for his friend. One of few places I know that will go out and get you what you are looking for.

What happened to your dream of owning a new 1-series?
well, BMW's site has the MSRP for a based out 1 series at 28,600, and the dealership here has them tagged for over 36k. im still planning on getting one in a few years once they start coming out CPO
i went out looking briefly at a couple cars today...i guess im at the point now where im asking myself if i want to buy a car and have a payment monthly, or if i should just find something for 1-2k to drive to and from work, and have the extra cash in my pocket
Get the tibby.
Cheaper, newer, you know how to fix anything that goes wrong, do you really want me to keep going?

Ya only realized last year that its the the JZ engine in the IS. Oh and at night the IS rear end is hard too distinguish from our Hatches.

Yeah, but if you're going to do the Evan, get a Stock one and maybe a V6.
I would add this to your list too:

GTO = V8 fuel consumption.
IS300 = requires premium fuel
A6 = maintenance will break you, requires premium fuel
out of those 4, the tib wins by default.

I think if you really want a 1-series then you should buy something cheap, but reliable, now and save save save.

i don't think the IS300 requires premium.

i don't think the IS300 requires premium.
incorrect.
IS 300's inline 6-cyl engine is unchanged and requires premium fuel. Sedans offer a 5-speed automatic transmission or the new 5-speed manual; manual versions get a firmer suspension. Lexus labels the wagon the SportCross and it comes only with the automatic.
Here is a list of all cars that require premium fuel:

Have you considered finding a loaded Mazda 3? The up level ones have some very nice features and it would still be pretty good on gas.
Deviant

Get a Mazda 6 they are better looking and the 4 cylinder gets around the same MPG as the XD.

put a blower on that gto and you've got a beast of a car
my votes on buying a cheap car and saving. a new bmw is a great investment that'll last you many many years

we already have 1 mazda3 in the household, if there was any chance of a 2nd, it would be a speed3, which is out of my range right now. her dad has a mazda6 with the 4cyl, and its slow as hell...i cant do that.
im still debating...im waiting on the police report now so i can get it to the insurance co and get things moving.

Bentley Continental GT needs premium fuel? Well im crossing that off my list (I guess the Lotus can run 87 now) well Evan im against anything that will force you to buy premium gas. I'd say get a cheapo car for work then get something for play.....or wait for the genesis coupe
