allright, thiers soo many posts about making the exhaust louder, but im THINKING about quieting mine up some. right now, i have stock manifold, removed second cat, removed resonator and replaced with cherry bomb, stock piping and a dynomax super turbo out back. ya, it is somewhat quiet compared to all those ricer honda's out thier, but like im thinking about making it quiet to ALMOST like stock, but i dont want to loose the flow. maybe a second cherry bomb? i dont want to go back to the stock muffler either! any suggestions?

resonator, and try and see if u can get a hold of the Scion XD TRD sport muffler. it gives the Scion a nice low and slighter louder than stock growl, and the Scion is a 1.8l. not sure of the exhaust diameter though for it. i drove one for about 30 minutes today at work just to hear it.

good suggestion, considering as soon as our new showroom opens in a few weeks we will be selling scion too. only problem is i found the muffler online, aroung $ 380! i hate to see what our dealership will sell them for, they are high priced!

ours is like $378.45 or something. i think its a factory-set price, not dealer-set. you should be able to get a discount on it if you've been working there a while.

Still, even with a 50% discount it's around 200$ hahahaha, f- that.

you'd have to work at the same dealership for near 90 years to get 50%!!! i think the most we get is like 30%
but ur right, it is a bit steep for a muffler. its only that expensive cause its made by Toyota, and everything made by Toyota is more expensive than it needs to be.

got that right!!!! but they are good quality cars.
but like KeWLKaT said, another resonator should work, right? or a second cherry bomb right after the one i already have will work, right?

You can get the Remus muffler I have. It's not that loud at all.
With resonator:

WOW They both sound nice. The Remus W/O Resonator reminds me of a V6 Mustang almost that deep throaty roar. Is yours a Standard trans and was that your car. Also is there other tips. Is that with an intake and headers or whats your set up Thanks BOB

My car, auto trans, Accord CAI, stock manifold. This muffler is a direct bolt-on and that is the only tip offered for the Elantra I believe. But, Remus has many other universal mufflers with different style tips, but you will have to weld the muffler on.

Thanks so its a direct bolt on were the old muffler would have went. I would need a piece of pipe to put in place of the resonator. No figment issues to worry about. Thanks For all the help. BOB

Nah, I think it was somewhere around $320 after shipping. I think I paid $267 for the muffler. But since they are made to order and shipped out from the factory in Austria, shipping was like $75. The universal ones can be found here in the US, but are more expensive for some reason. But shipping will be much less. So if you wan't different tips, you may have to get a universal. I don't remember if I got to choose the tips I wanted before they made it.

WOW Is there a way to get the same sound with a cheaper muffler. I wish I could access clips with different configurations. One with out the muffler but with Res. one W/O Res but with Muffler. I am thinking about maybe a GlassPack or a Cherry Bomb. BOB
