hey guys,

well i know some of you guys my think this is pointless, but i just wanted to say sorry for the stupid post and comments i have posted up. i have relized that most of them were stupid and pointless, and some could have been answered using search. but some i did search and didnt find the answer, but thats the past and ill use the search button more often to find my answers.

but anyways. as most of you know i somewhat messed up my seats. so i decided to order racing seats. heres the link to the ones im ordering

http://a1performanceparts.com/catalog/20blueblackvinylracingseats-p-54.html?osCsid=281d28f9e852f0883b20ee2df6ea379a

and i also order some lightweight pulleys and a high flow cat. and there are more mods to come, just dont no what else to get yet.

thanks

You know you can use tiburon seats as replacements right? The airbags work for our cars so you won't get a cel. Not sure if in your state that's a problem or not. Just throwing some extra ideas. Bet you could easily find them at a junk yard.

But anyways, the seats you've picked look nice. BTW what are you going to do about your back seats?

wouldnt i get an air bag light instead of a cel? i was looking into the tiburon seats, but i didnt no if they were a direct replacement or you had to mod them alittle.

as for the backseats, if i get the racing seats my friends cusion can reuphoslter them in the same material.

oops yeah air bag light it is.

There's ppl here who've done it.

Here's two quick threads about them:

http://www.elantraxd.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28792&highlight=Tiburon+Seats

Yet again you didn't mention anything about state law or inspection regarding air bag lights. So I guess it's ok for you then.
If you want to go with them then it's fine, like I said they're nice. But if I could find TIb seats and not get a light...then I'd find it worth it. Whichever way is cheaper...yet that's my thought, since I'm cheap. :D

I've got tib seats in my '02 GT with no air bag light. The 2003 tib seats are a direct swap (with very little modification to the seat rail brackets from the Elantra) and the SAB harnesses plug right in.

The only thing you have to do to keep the air bag light off and the passenger air bag functioning all the time is either transfer the passenger occupancy sensor / pressure pad from the passenger-side Elantra seat to the Tib passenger seat, or short the sensor connector with a resistor to make the computer think the passenger seat is occupied.

IMO that is by far the easiest thing to do. You'll have to do a lot more to any racing seats you buy to make them fit and get all the air bags to work properly. I wouldn't go the aftermarket racing seat route.

Disabling any part of your SRS system is illegal, unsafe and silly. . . you will likely get cited during inspection time and not get your state sticker.
