So I'm having problems with my scanner here at work. It stopped in the middle of a job, and won't turn back on. I uninstalled and reinstalled all the software, no good. The main problem is the scanner won't turn on if it's hooked up or not, the damn thing is dead... so I emailed HP tech support. I sent them the email descibing all the steps I have taken, telling them the damn thing won't turn on and I need a warrenty claim. They responded within an hour (good) and told me to reinstall all the software, release the USB ports, restart the comuter and turn on the scanner. You dumb Fckers... if I could turn on the scanner I wouldn't be asking you for help. I hate tech support people soooo much.

I'm a tech support person. But I'm a 3rd level technician, it passes through 2 hands at our support line by people dumber then that before it gets to us, and the problem never goes any further because we solve it.

Basically either the power cord transformer blew or the power supply circut board blew. I've never seen any HP's do that before, but then again it's just electronics and could blow very easily. You'll just have to reply and tell them you've done all that and you would like to have it repaired. They may just tell you to take it to an authorized repair depot.

By the way, I don't work for HP. I work for a private corporation.
