so i went to redline in Arlington today after school to do a baseline dyno... they have never dynoed any Hyundais there so they made a new folder and im the first on in it, lol... anyway, it was awesome being able to watch. the numbers with 5lbs of boost were 157hp at 5k rpms.. thats lower than i hoped but we didn't want to push it too hard because it was running really lean.. it turns out that a long time ago when i had my injectors & fuel pump changed i ended up paying for the brand name.. the guy said that the injectors were bigger and the pump was stronger but he f'ing lied.. so now i need injectors & fuel pump. in conclusion im good with the numbers but mad cuz the lean factor.
heres the graph

only 5 lbs of boost and running super lean.. lean as in im not boosting again until i change the injectors, fp & install the apexi neo.... i was under the impression the injectors & pump were already bigger. the wideband read 20, the redline guy and i agreed not to run it anymore today, or until we can put more fuel in.

20? TWENTY?????????

WHAT THE ****!!!!

And you run your car like this? You're lucky you didnt melt something, or maybe you did and you just don't know yet.

WERE YOU RUNNING YOUR CAR with NO FUEL TUNING? Injectors and fuel pump. You think that changes something except throwing fuel at your engine all wrong?

WTF!

Sorry.... I'm really speechless...

Well, 157 isn't too bad right now. It's more than 99% of Elantra owners on EXD. So that's something.

yea by 20 horse...

ill put that grand toward the ngm...

wait wait wait.......

ur wideband read 20??? as in 2 and 0, as in twenty?

thats a no-no and major boo-boo i presume.

I'm suprised you didn't burn up some piston rings. I would not even go into boost anymore until you get some adequate tuning.

I dont even have to say it now, its been said enough. BUT im going to...20 is rediculous, I have a hard time convincing myself to go into boost if im at mid 14s and accelerating.

yeah guys i was really scared when he said it was reading 20.. and it is my fault for not looking into the injectors more.. when i got them & the pump i only had the car for a month and really was just learning. so for me this is just learning the hard way.. i most likely will take the head off to inspect the pistons and the oil pan to check out the bottom end when ever i have the extra time.

20? TWENTY?????????

oh yeah and no i have not been running the car like this. i have been driving like a grandma because this is my first turbo and dont want to get in any trouble with it, right away anyway lol. but ive only pushed the car maybe twice before the dyno so i dont know what to think about the 20, i know its really really bad and for sure im not running it hard until i fix it..

Or actually research some of this **** before slapping a kit on your car and hoping for the best.

And what in his past would make you assume he's capable of that?

how bought instead of attacking him for a mistake, help move past it. he was smart enough to stop before it seized, so STFU you negative bastards. If you don't have any thing constructive to say, shut it!

Anyway, sorry to hear bout the low #s, atleast its still in one peice, lets se what it does wither bigger injectors and a new pump. GL HF

I'm sorry and you have how much horsepower?

I'm surprised he didn't seize the motor. If he was indeed running up to a 20:1 then he's damned lucky the rings didn't fuse themselves to the cylinder wall with some of the temperatures that are possible. However, I suspect they were using a tailpipe o2 sensor in which case I don't think he was running 20:1 since I assume he has a cat in there somewhere. I also don't always trust tailpipe sensors. Hell, I get a 22:1 when I'm engine braking (foot off the gas)!

And what in his past would make you assume he's capable of that?

No need for that Bob-o

yea by 20 horse...

ill put that grand toward the ngm...

Hooray, lets spend 3-4 grand for 180whp.

Wow!^^ Got a couple of "crazie" burns in there, lol.

Good to see this hasn't killed your ride man. Good luck getting it all straightened out.

That won't do it, he needs fuel tuning.... Like a controller.

Yes, I agree, I'm glad he was smart enough to stop before he destroyed the engine.

But I still stand by my previous comment...if he did some more research he would be able to have that thing running beautifully.

Good luck with everything.

Did they even give you a Air Fuel Graph? Or how about one with RPM setting instead of MPH? I would find out if they have a 5 or 7 wire wideband. Only the 7 wire can read the emissions after a cat correctly. Do you even know what size injectors and pump you supposedly bought? If they are at least 290cc injectors and a stock rated pump you would've been running pig rich all the time.
I won't flame you like everyone else did, but you really need to do more research and running your car on the dyno was not the smartest thing to do without tuning. What you NEED to do now is a compression and a leak down test to see what shape your engine is in BEFORE you boost anymore.

what years your elantra that you put a grand into a turbo and your only running 157? my 03 stock is 135 hp and 132 lbs of torque ... just by me adding the catback exhaust and full cold air intake i think i already have more HP than you do with a turbo lol ... im getting my car dyno-ed real soon so when i do ill post the print out ... i still dont see how thats possible to drop a G and only walk away with that ...

KeWLKaT

That's what happens without fuel tuning. BTW you have 130hp to the crank, not the wheels, hahaha.
