wheels then suspension. then you can tell if you will rub or not before you spend 800+ on rims

I'd lower then put wheels on, because you have to take off the rims to lower it anyway.

These cars look goofy with bigger rims and not lowered. To prevent that, you could lower the car first, then get rims.

Lower then rims. I always found it FUGLY when I see a car with rims that's not lowered.

10 mins to take off rims, if it is a problem to take off rim to do suspension then you dont belong around cars. you are going to get your drop in suspension, prolly just with springs which will cause you stock struts to collapse due to unnatural spring rates then go buy rims that with the tires you have will rub and eventually fail due to crappy wheel fitment. but hey the best bet would be to get a full coilover set then get rims all at the same time. But, that is a lot of money to be putting into a hyundai. not to bash hyundai's in themselves but they werent designed to be tuned and dont exhibit performance enhancements just by lowering.

^Who the hell are you?!? And why don't you stuff it till you know what your talking about.

Lower then rims. I always found it FUGLY when I see a car with rims that's not lowered.

Oh hush Felix.;)

Jilly: Safest bet to find rims with 45-42mm offset (yes they are out there if you look) stick with a 205 width tire and then a lil negative camber (aka -.5 to -1.0) when you get lowering springs and things should be just fine.

I ordered some springs that will give my car a 1.2" drop.. so i should put the lowering springs on FIRST, THEN when i order my wheels,( I havent ordered them yet) then put the wheels on?

just put the springs on with the wheels you have now. There's nothing wrong with being lowered on OEM wheels. Then, when you decide what you want / have money, order your rims. You'll enjoy handling benefits from lowering springs.

1.2". Eibach? or H&R?

AG lowering kit

I ordered a set of lowering springs, that will lower my car 1.2" and im soon going to get a set of wheels/rims that are 18".. will they rub? tire wise what size?

18" may rub, you will probably need to roll the fenders. I know there are a few people are here that have had 18" no problem, hopefully they can give you some input on the adjustments you need to make.

But since you are getting 18" you may want to let the springs settle in a bit so you know how much you need to adjust for the 18" to fit.

it took my AG's like 2 weeks to fully settle, so lower first then rims. but you will be able to still do a 215 tire.

i meant im putting 17"s on.. sorry, so do the 215/40/17 tire size, and it won't rub?

17" usually don't rub, and the AGs are less of a drop than most.

you have to get the right offset. 42 is very common but I'd try harder and get either 45 or 48 just to ensure you won't rub.

45 is very common in 18 inch wheels. Here I'd try to get 18x7 instead of 18x7.5.
