Awesome movie (and book too I've heard).
Be sure it's not a scam thing, I've heard of those.
I'd go. I think it'd be a cool experience.

Thats actually a pretty good question. Here, you cant get jury duty until you're registered to vote. Obviously not the case with you. Id still go. Ive been twice, its an interesting experience.

if youre not a citizen, why the **** are you here? either youre here legally, either being born here, or getting your papers to be here legally, or get the **** out until you are legal.
i was just thinking about this again...
if youre not a citizen, what the **** makes you think it would be a good idea to go and tell THE COURTS your not a citizen? you think theyre gonna say "oh ok, no jury duty, go back home" or "oh ok, no jury duty, hang on here while we call INS"??

Yeah how are you living there without papers? I mean, you're a citizen, but not a ''born citizen''?
Here you can be a ''permanent resident'' if you're an immigrant.

The residency thing works as a non permanent solution to being in the U.S. legally. However it expires in like 10 years or something like that. Right now to be able to take the test it is about $600+....my mom just took it and passed. She'll be a citizen pretty soon....the government does this swear in thing....I'm still a resident....I'm not eligible yet to become a citizen...I believe it is until I turn 21 for some odd reason. oh well....ah also the residency thing can be renewed, so actually people don't have to become citizens to stay here as long as they want. Just no voting privileges.

Pete, jury duty blows! I had it in New Britain and was selected for a bank robbery trial. Fing boring dude! If you're not selected, you sit in a room and watch crappy videos until they tell you to go home.

are you sure the paper was to be on the jury or a subpoena for you to be tried? you could always tell them your going to be out of the country during that time and won't be able to make it i guess. hopefully a black tahoe won't be sitting outside your house
