So About 2 months ago, I purchased the K&N Apollo Intake. I'm looking for some feedback on what "accessories" to buy for it so I can actually install it. I'd like to remove the stock pipe and replace it with some intake tubing, silicone couplers and t-bolt clamps. I don't think the stock tubing will support the weight of the Apollo, especially since it's flexible ribbing.
I thought about getting an Accord intake and cutting it, but it looks like even off eBay that's a $50-60 proposition and that would include cheap rubber couplers and worm clamps.
Or, I could get a 2.75" 45-elbow like this and purchase the couplers elsewhere: http://www.sfxperformance.com/parts/VIB2880.htm
Does anyone know where to get affordable silicone couplers & clamps? Someone once recommended hts.com, but they are now out of business.
Lastly...what size couples would I need to get? All 2.75"?

Wonder if it Actually works. How much. Also you can get some cheap rubber connectors at hardware stores. BOB

Two guys on eclub have it and say it's great. But...one of them used the stock tubing, but doesn't have the MAF, and the other used the tubing from his old setup. I'm going from stock.

How much did you pay for this? The k&n website has it for like 210, and ebay is insane. If you're around that, you woulda had just as much luck buying a name brand full intake that came with everything you need instead of piecing something together for way more than you would have spent. I like the idea of the cover, but not for that much money.

1 Apollo intake = roughly 5 ebay accord intakes, or 4 if you buy better couplers/clamps, 3 if you buy better filter, couplers, and clamps. or another name brand intake with everything you need with cash to spare. dont waste your money. just my two cents worth.
but accessories....
either use the stock piping off the TB and couple the intake to that, or you could use the 45-degree elbow you mentioned and use that. fairly easy set-up/install. just depends if u have MAP or MAF.
and yes, 2.75'' has worked for my TB/intake.

$126. I wouldn't even have considered it at $210.
In any case, I'm not here to defend my decision to purchase it, since I already have it, and I'm sure I'll be happy with it once I figure out how I'm going to attach it to the TB.

I wasn't tryin to be a dick or anything, but I hadn't heard of the Apollo intake yet. I did some lookin around and saw the ones I could find were insanely expensive. I wasn't asking you to defend it, I was just curious if you actually spent that much and why. I guess 126 isn't too terribly bad, you could just buy basically a straight 2.75 pipe for like a sri, then attach that, then run the tube that comes with it down into the fenderwell. it'd look pretty custom that's for sure.
