No, the XG300 was the original XG, before they put the 3.5l engine in it.
I would stay away from both, unless it's one of the last couple year XG350's before the Azera. The old V6 3.0l engine wasn't very impressive and the 3.5l was neither impressive or fuel effecient.

why not just buy a sonata v6? its looks better, great on gas and its more reliable, cheaper too.

Just sold mine... ah, it was a good car. I think the 3.5 Had more power then SuperGLS is saying. 195HP and 216foot pounds torque. It could spin the tire with the TCS off, (Well all through first gear) but then the tires would some times hop. Can do 130MPH+. 0-60 was like 7 secs, not too bad for a car of this size) The Sport shift is a joke, When you get on it, it would shift for you anyways(At what 6000RPMS?) so really it was a good car, a little over priced, and some what of a stretched sonata. Gas MPG were about 24 Mixed. AS in 80/20 Here was my 2005 XG350L

I did not really have any problems with this car. The DBW is a little weired, and takes some time getting used to, and the Tries ware quickly. But other then that, was a good car.

What I'm saying is that a 3.5l engine making less than 200HP is not very effecient. I mean, the 3.3l Lambda is making 235HP, just as a comparison.

I think those older XG engines were cast iron blocks rather than aluminum weren't they? As I recall the XG is a pretty heavy car. Probably why the HP and performance ratio are so bad in comparison to their newer engines.

3600lbs of car and 190-ish horsepower were not a good combo. Most of our customers complained about sub-20 mpg gas mileage too.

Stay away from the XG they are very problematic once they get age on them. the mitsu designed 3.0, 3.5, and 2.4 are all crap. also the drive by wire setup is very slow. poor throttle response IMO.
