ok so i got he shark racing ecu off of tsmooth, so i could run my 2.5 bar map sensor. it came in yesterday so i went ahead and put it in. only problem is when i have the sr ecu in the smt wont communicate, it shows "no comms" i thought maybe i messed up the wiring when i pulled on it, so i plugged the stock ecu back in and it works fine.
any ideas?
car will start and run on it, i just can't trim down the fuel with the smt

how does it run with the SR ECU without the SMT? what kind of A/F numbers are your running? if i were you i would run the SR ECU and ditch the SMT and just pick up an Air Fuel controller like a SAFC 2 or a APEXI Neo

way rich 10 like barely running, im running 36lb hr injectors, thats why i need the smt-6 to trim it down. I'm not gonna get rid of my smt-6 unless i go standalone, its wayyyy better than the safc, thats what i was using before.

I would see if you can connect to the ODBII port. It may be how it's modified.

? you mean tap into the obd port with the smt wiring? or just hook up a scan tool and see if it reads?
thanks

do you have the short plug with your smt6 if yes hook it up and comfirm you have 12 volt with key on (red led wil llight up)
if you don't have the short plug, comfirm with a voltmeter that you have 12 volts between the smt6 red wire (voltage input) and the smt6 black wire (ground)
maybee the ground is bad

allright I'll try that and see, but if my ground is bad why would it work with the stock ecu, i switched three times with the same effect

Why? The SMT-6 outclasses both those fuel controllers. Just because some people can't install it doesn't mean it's not the best out there ;)

lol thats not why....
i just like the fact you dont need to hook up a lap top and its very easy to tune with the neo or SAFC 2. also they are alot cheaper

safc is good for minor stuff and has limited function
smt6 can be used on either minor stuff, and has tons of functions..
hell, i did a civic wit ha gt35r turbo, it spins street radials in 5th gear and we didn't have the nitrosu hooked up yet (engine was still in the "break in" stage ......)

well its in mayollo's hands now, hopefully it works out on your car, you'll be the third person to try it now, but you'll have the 2.5 bar map sensor and 290's on a map based car so you got more going for you than me or tsmooth did. i just ordered my gm 3bar so i guess i'm gonna try that route.

Nope it didn;t work. Here is waht happened.
1. Installed the ecu wihout the map sensor-car runned ultra rich.
2. Installed the ecu with the 2.5 bar map sensor and the car runned with a 11.7 afr on first gear at 5 psi and from 2 gear on it was running super lean at tyhe point that when the car was stopped the Turbine housing and the manifold was bright Orange and even the fenders were hot.
Conclusion:
This computer is a stage 1 computer which means that it is mapped for a t25 turbocharger which has a very different A/F map curve than the t3/t4B that I have which is a lot bigger (meaning a lot more of air) than a t25 with stock injectors.
This computer is great setup for whoever has a nice N/A tunned engine , let say headers, camgear, intake and ported intake with BBTB. I'll bet that.
I ended up Switched everything back and the car dynoed 210.7 whp. 182 ft.torque at 18.4 afr and 9.7 psi of boost (strong engine:rolleyes:).

Thats a misprint right ... 18.4 Air/Fuel ???
A little lean isn't it ...

Is not that lean, i'ts only 6 points of AFR leaner than whatg its supposed to be. Not even the uego could read that.

that sucks, it looked like it was gonna work out on your setup.
sounds like your engine had a rough day, that thing is indestructable.

Dang ... $150 shipped? I'd do this now if it would fit my '06 Beta II with CVVT.

That's for sure. It can hold a lot of abuse.

If you still want 100 without map and its yours. You have to use your 2.5 map to make it work cuz if you dont your car would be running so rich that it will barely iddle with the stock map. With the 2.5 map your good to go.
I got pist off so bad trying out and waiting for others to answer my qs. about their products that I bought a LC-1 wideband, and an aeromotive 1:1 FPR with fittings and line to a return line to my fuel system. I'm sure that without piggy backs or standalones I will go over 250 whp in a reliable way. Right now when I reset the ECU my car dont find grip until 3rd gear.
Will see...

It is remmaped for 290cc injectors. Stage 1 means a TDOH13G turbo or a t25
