Maybe just wait for a triple pillar. Its too much...stuff like that should be on a car that is a true race car...then you can justify the aesthetic and comfort (loss of a/c vent) changes.

What are you going to fill the vent switch hole with?

Maybe if you had the dash cover overlay "welded" and it didnt look like a plastic insert was put into the vent, it might look better.

What brand gauges are those, anyway? On second thought, it doesn't look bad...now if they only made white faced speedo/tach faces you would be all set.

I dont know, I am not feeling it. I think its to far from all your other gauges to look right. It almost looks like it is for the passenger to watch rather than you. sorry man..

Nice job. When I had 300ZX Twin Turbo, I made boost gauge like that.

But the problem is the summer time.

Well, but it worths in my opinion.

I like it. Your A/C will blow harder out of the vents since you closed one off so you shouldn't feel that much of a difference. They make gauge kits for Mustangs that close off TWO dash vents and they sell like Hotcakes. I have seen them on most every HiPo Mustang out there. Plus, you have something that no other XD/XD2 owner has.......Air Cooled Gauges

I think it would be cool to hide some gauges behind the door under the cd player. That way they are hidden and the car still looks smooth and clean but you still have them when you need to monitor the car's function more closely.

Calm down there... do you really need 4 gauges though?? I would think that's a little extreme. I wasn't calling you/your car a ricer I was just saying having alot of useless gauges = rice IMO but if you actually need all 4 of them then maybe finding a tasteful spot for the forth one would be ok... what about the driver-side vent on the left side of the steering wheel? I've never really used that vent since it's really painful to adjust perfectly IMO(and crack your window and you don't need it) and it's right in the middle of your gauge cluster and your pillar gauges(which I really like) so it would be close to you(keep your eyes on the road!! ) and wouldn't look out of place.

The Autometer Carbon Fiber guages are not that expensive and would go great in your car.

Heres a pic of the Autometer Ultra Lite Carbon Fiber Guages. I have these two gauges in my car, and I also happen to think the picture doesn't do them justice. Anways back to my point the reason I think they would look good in your car is because of your other carbon fiber stuff you have, it would compilment it.

The volt meter has a bulb in the back where you pick your color by putting a color bulb in it or getting those color plastic things that go over the bulb, unfortunately the Air fuel ratio doesn’t light up except for the led telling you weather your rich or lean, but it does have un opening in the rear for a light bulb.

I have a triple gauge holder for the DIN location under the stereo. I think it will turn out good when I finally get around to buying guages. I agree with unnecessary gauges being rice (like Boost when you don't have a turbo), but if the gauge works, how can if be rice? I have Voltz (to monitor battery due to stereo) and Oil Press (a good thing to watch) in my Pillar. I want a Trans Temp (auto trans car, good to watch if running hard) an A/F ratio (reasons obvious), and Oil temp (better idea of engine heat, as opposed to water temp on stock gauges). Is it rice to add all those, even though they will all function and serve a purpose?

As for ilans, I like the gauge. I don't like losing a vent for it though. Keeping the vent and the gauge is optimal, IMO.
