Anyone have experience with these?
I'm looking for something that'll do good on the performance side...but I want a smoother right then I have with my Parada 2's...
So feedback?
Any recommendations? I want to spend no more than about $130ea.

They are not very quiet. Hard ride (stiff sidewalls) but good grip. I have a feeling they will be comparable to your Paradas.
What about the SPT's?

I'm looking for something alittle more of a comfy ride. But I want to be able to handle the car when needed, as I do want to track the car some this summer. The gf drives the car also and doesn't like how rough the ride is nor the noise of the tires.

Who cares if she doesn't like it, it's not her car! :abovelol:

I don't mind the ride...but I hate the noise... I just changed my exhaust so it wasn't so loud on the highway....

215/45/17? Let me look real quick. . .
Well if it's comfort you want go with the Solus KH16. Then there's the ASX, a little softer ride than the Yoko's, little quieter.

I've been riding on 205/40/17 but if you think a bigger tire will fit...more traction for me.

well THERE'S your problem! ANY 205/40/17 will ride like azz on a car this heavy.
Yeah, 215/45 as long as you have a 40+ offset. KH16's will be the best for comfort/quiet, the ASX more enjoyment behind the wheel.

I have a 42 offset....
42 4 x 100/114.3 72.6
I want performance...which is my main. Then from there Comfort/quiet next. but has to be under 130ea

Then ASX, 215/45 and you'll be great. 42 offset is the right offset for those tires.
I had 215/45 Nitto NT450's on my Enkei RS6's. They were a GREAT tire, but they were noisey.

No. . . . Kumho ASX (KU21) and the Nitto was just that, Nitto NT-450. I don't know if they make that tire or not anymore. I had it on a couple vehicles.

If it helps...I can go all summer, I live in FL.
The S Drive I was looking at has better specs than the ASX o.0

If it helps, we've installed about 10-11 sets of them on A-spec cars. They don't live up to the specs. Just a heads up.

So you would still recommend the ASX? KK I'll give them a try I guess.

Yeah, I've seen them hold up to the terrible suspension under the TL where other tires die a horrible death.

KK thanks as usual Bob!

I had some 245/45r17 DNA's on my skyline in Japan. Wow great tires, awesome grip, much more responsive then I would have thought. I had them for slightly over a year, and during that time I probably put 15,000 miles on them.

How does the ASX compare to the Parada 2's? I loved my Paradas except the road noise...I'm thinking of going with them again.....

The ASX is actually an all-season. I might suggest the SPT's instead of teh ASX.

Whats the major difference in 215/40 and 215/45?
BobMs_wht2k2
07-15-2008, 06:27 PM
5. . . . . :abovelol:
215/45 is a little taller than stock. Gives you a little slower RPM's at cruising speed. The 215/40 is closer to stock, but still a little shorter over all.
215/45 is 2% larger than stock.
215/40 is 2% smaller than stock.
The more sidewall you have, the better chance of a decent ride.

Ah, kk b/c the Parada only come 40 not 45 and I'm not THAT worried about the ride being horrid.... *shrug*
how do the SPT's compare to the Falken ZIEX 912?
BobMs_wht2k2
07-16-2008, 08:56 AM
Ziex 912's are an all season tire. SPT's are a 3 season tire. Which, being in Florida would be perfect.

Performance wise which are better? I can't find any good review or the Ziex and I have a local deal for them.... o.0 I feel like such a noob...probably b/c I am when it comes to tires.

All-season is a compromise. It sacrifices grip for all-weather capability. A summer tire (which you bastards can use all year round [/jealousy]) would be the better alternative for you if you want a performance tire.
