Motorimpact.com sells a NFA HID Conversion Kit 6000K (http://www.motorimpact.com/mxsa/01101pg.product_info/cPath.55_98/products_id.35/product_info.htm) for $389.00.

I wouldn't get over 6000k. it's too blue. it seems really cool but when you get used to that, your eyes will get tired.

4100K is stock on most vehicles, I think BMW's have theirs at maybe 4300K...but 6000K is quite bluish, you lose alot of light after that.
Anything higher than 6000K is more for looks

i saw the mussa one. is their customer service good? ill have to research that. i also saw on another site that 6000k is color purple. they were comparing it to a 8000k light. i think i am going to get the 6000k one. i want an improvement on brightness of the headlights. plus i like the look of that blue/purple look.

If you want reputable quality, spend a little more money and ket a Philips H7 Kit. (http://xenondepot.com/xenondepot/product.php?product_id=4) The kits are some of the most reliable kits out there with VERY low failure rates.

honestly a good price would be under 250 for HID's.....my honest opinion is anything higher then that is too much.....the only catch is that the 6K and under are hard to find unless you go OEM

Yeah but unfortunately you won't find any real quality kits for that much unless it's a used Philips/Hella kit or OEM ballasts and bulbs. With the OEM stuff, you will most likely have to do some modding of either the headlamp housing or the hid bulb. You can get 2 Hella OEM ballasts and 2 OEM bulbs off ebay for no more than $270-290, but like I said, some modding will most likely be required. The reason the kits are so much is because they are made to be completey plug and play. So they come with the proper wire harness and relays. Kits for $250 will most likely be Asian made and probably won't last long! That's just the way it is.
Also, for more hid info, you guys should register at www.hidplanet.com forums.

HIR's are the ulimate halogen bulbs right now. They are very much brighter than even silver stars and last up to 3 times as long as halogens. However, they are very expensive. They are used stock in the new Vipers and cost about $150 from the dealer. I have found some for about $70 but they only come in 3 different bulb sizes. I only can remember one which is H3. They look a lot like HID bulbs but have some differences. HID is still the absolute best at the moment! I'll post the site later once I find it! Meanwhile, heres some general info about them: http://www.hidplanet.com/halogen.html

You have to get the one that fits the bulb size of your car which is H7 for the XD. If you get OEM hid's you will have to do some modding to get them to fit. If you aren't good with modding stuff to fit and work right, just get the one made for the car which will be an H7 kit.
