"Hyundai: Kissing Clunkers Goodbye"

http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/04_20/b3883054.htm

"One encouraging sign: DaimlerChrysler (DCX ) and Mitsubishi Motors Corp. plan to use a Hyundai-designed four-cylinder engine in their own small- and midsize cars." :D

Not until Hyundai offers a more powerful version of the Beta. The 2004 Lancers can be ordered with an optional 162hp motor on the ralliart models. Maybe in the base models though as their HP is only 120

good. as good as the Beta is, it's pretty old compared to other I4 engines...

i would love to see something like a 2.5 liter inline 4 engine with VVT, pushing around 160-170hp.

Theta is supposidely going to be like 160-170 I think they said

Bring on the Theta. A swap that might actually be worth it.

Always good to see Hyundai getting praise in different kinds of publications.

All I've heard about the Theta (keep in mind I'm not in Korea, haha) is has been rumors rumors rumors. With that said, I'd hope that the rumors of it coming if various sizes (1.8l-2.5l) are true, and that it can be used in various applications. A power increase would be good to see, but I think they may be going for a engine (car) with better fuel economy, so that could hurt performance. We'll have to wait and see.

Good and exciting time to be a Hyundai owner though, that's for sure.
