well, turned out that when i took the coilovers off, i could have sworn there was a "pipe" over the top of the strut bolt, so i put 1 "pipe" on each one...used all 4 of them...well, service manager called, said they shouldnt be there, on the fronts and that because its not a factory part, they would have to charge me for the service charge (82!? ****ing dollars) to take off 2 bolts, take out the pipes, and put the bolts back on...at this point im pissed...then he tells me the rattling im hearing is my intake moving in the fender hole...now im really pissed caus he took out the pipes, and it wasnt even the main problem...well i need to have my car back...have 47$ in the bank, 37$ in my pocket and 15$ in change ( :D :abovelol: ) so, not wanting to leave my bank acct with only 2$, i take them 15$ in change...got there at 5:59, they close @ 6...everyone was ready to go, then i walked in...put the 15$ on the counter...made them count it out...(took them 2 tries) then, acted like i lost my wallet, came back, gave them the 37$ i had, then gave them my CC...at this point, its like 6:10, and theyre getting pissed at me...but i dont give a flying rats *** caus theyre charging me 82 freaking dollars to have 2 pipes taken out...5 min job...THEN...the guy tells me i probably have them in the rear, and they need to come out...i told him im not paying him to do it, ill do it myself...get home, spend about an hour getting both out of the rear...bolt the drivers side down, buddy did the pass side, we go for a drive...noisy as hell from the pass side...seems the drivers side didnt have a self locking nut, but the pass side did...and somehow, all the threading on the pass side nut was gone...just stripped out...so i have to go get a new nut (prolly do both so theyre the same...get on webtech to check about the pipes on the rear...I DO NEED THEM...i could have left the rear alone and not have to wake up at 730 to go get new nuts if this *** would have told me the right thing first...im so sick of the dealer after this...the first 2 times, it was fine (1 - ignition lock or something 2- clutch...replaced for free under the 12k mile clutch warranty)...this one makes me see why everyone fears the dealer...they will definatly hear a lot more from me if some bull**** like this happens again.

Pipes? What pipes? Do you mean that you put sleeves (something like tall washers) over the bolt shafts above the top of the strut towers for some reason so that the nuts didn't sit flush against the sheet metal? Why?

If possible, you should always take the easily removable aftermarket parts off of your car before taking it to the dealer.

Also, if you want to know if a part is factory, go to https://dcs.hyundaidealer.com/customer/index.jsp and look at the exploded image of the part you have a question about to see if it's on the schematic.

im not going to take off my intake and exhaust if i think the problem is in the suspension somewhere...i know he cant deny me warranty work on the suspension because of an intake and exhaust (unless in some way, that made my suspenson loose) so i left it on...i did that last time it went in....im not going to take 3 hours+ to take off an intake and exhaust and put stock parts back on for something totally unrelated

well i guess i was right on your other thread about them charging you for the diagnosis since it was an aftermarket part. sorry they made you pony up...

...take the easily removable aftermarket parts off...

I thought that it'd be self evident what aftermarket parts fell into the "easily removable" category... no, the exhaust system wouldn't fit in that category.

sorry i must have read through it too fast...i dont really have anything thats an "easily removable" part...only mods i have done are those in my sig...its either 2 min (coolant by pass) or 1-2 hours (intake, exhaust, shortshifter)
